St Louis (Midwest) Meet up - 6/2/07

Anyone interested in having a midwest meet up in StL?  There are a few of us here, and a few more within driving distance.  I'd be happy to let some people stay at my place if they are from out of town, although as of right now I don't have a spare bed.  I do have a couch and an air mattress.  :)

I was thinking perhaps a local or healthy restaurant of some kind, like Schlafly Bottleworks, Sweet Tomatoes, or Terrene...  And something touristy - which type of tourist activity depends on if it's all locals or some out of town folks, too.

I would like to propose late May or early June - but it's up to everyone! 

So what do you guys think?

I'd be up to it. Although i've only been on here a few days (on the actual forums)... :)

I doubt I can be there myself as I told myself I'd avoid St. Louis like the plague until such time as I get over my frustration with certain people in that area.

But I thought I'd bump your post for you ;)

I'd love to do a Midwest meet-up but St. Louis is a stretch for me here in MI.  Just go on without me, I'll be fine!

Don't know if late May/eary June would work for me since I'm planning on going to the C-C meet up in New York which is Memorial Day weekend.  Yes, St. Louis is much closer to home, but it's still a 9hour drive and so that's kind of another big trip.

Early Fall and we'd be onto something...

I would be interested... as long as it's not the week of Memorial Day - I'll be visiting the in-laws in TN :)

I would interested in a St. Louis meetup. I am 2 hours away but I think it would be awesome!!!! With enough notice time shouldn't be a big deal!!!

Heh; I live about an hour away from there, but the city personally scares me a little. ^^;;

That would be interesting, but I know I can't go no matter what; I think my parents would think I'm anorexic or something if they knew I was on this site at all. I love them and respect them so much, and am truly grateful to be so blessed to have incredible parents that worry and care about me, but they don't realize I'm not a complete idiot sometimes. : P

Ok - so how about June 9th?  Anyone can feel free to propose a different date, I'm just throwing that one out there so we have something to work with.  Thoughts?

I'm in STL! June 9th works for me. Sweet Tomatoes is awesome, Terrene, Bread Co, maybe? Yay!

Just keep me posted! I usually work Saturdays, but Im off at 3pm and I will usually have time to swing by and say hi and maybe have a beverage or 2.

6/16 and 6/17 is Father's Day weekend.

Ok, how about 6/2?  I was thinking that was Memorial day, but that would be the weekend before, right?

Im in STL and I'm up for it... although I just joined CC last week, so I dont have any fabulous goals to flaunt!!  LoL :)

I think we should decide if we want to just do the restaurant thing, or if we want to do an activity of some kind plus food. 

Was it hooligan that suggested Powder Valley?  I'm not 100% sure, but that sounds like it would be fun for hiking.  Or there is always the zoo, or Castlewood...

I say we decide if we are doing an activity first, and which one.  Then pick a restaurant depending on what part of town we are going to be in.  Agreed?

My vote is to do an activity of some kind.  I like the sound of Powder Valley, just because I've never been there.  :)
