well thats where things are not so great, at my heaviest i was 435 and now im down to 380 after 5 months, im hoping the progress stays good now that im watching my diet more carefully in addition to hitting the gym 5 days a week.

my short term goal is to hit 349 by august 2nd which i think is doable. wish me luck!

Congratulations! You must feel great... Good luck on the rest of your journey!

Hey, no fair.  I've been counting calories for about 2 weeks, exercising 5 days a week, and I've only lost 2 lbs....argghh!  Anyone else have a slower start?  I only weigh myself once a week because I can't take the results if it's gone up or not changed.

But I am truly happy to hear such good progress from the rest of you.

I'm a slow start too.  I tried this last year and gave up after losing only 4 lbs in a month, but now that I've gained even more, I'm re-committing myself.  I've only been at it since Monday, and I'm not weighing myself until Monday again.  (I guess weekly weigh-in are the defenses us slow starters share!)

Congrats polpot and everyone else who is seeing progress!  Your stories help the rest of us keep hope!

Way to go polpot!!!!! I've lost 16 lbs since 4/1. I didn't discover this website until mid month, but I was already counting calories and doing the food diary thing. This website is so handy. I really like seeing my nutritional analysis each day. Very interesting. I'm struggling with exercise. I've been wearing a pedometer at work and walk up and down stairs, I try to get in at least 1.5-2 miles on the job. But I just shut down when i get home and it's like pulling teeth to do anything. I feel committed to eating better and within my limits, but I really have to commit myself to exercising. reading the forums is definately inspiring. Congrats to everyone!

Congratulations and good luck on the rest of your journey
