Hi Ladies! you both are doing a great job!

I wieghed in at 220. 2 this morning.

Thanks for the words of encouragement Kristi. I do tend to push myself too hard, even when I don't feel well. I have to remember that I had a really awesome thirty day weight loss period last month - I lost 10 pounds and 7.5 inches. That very well may mean that I have a smaller loss this month. The good thing though is that if I at least get down to 220 by Nov. 20th, that will be a five pound loss for this 30 day weight period. I haven't been able to keep anything on my stomach today really, so calories haven't been a problem, but I also can't exercise either. Hopefully I will feel better within the next few days so that I can at least get in 3 days of exercise this week.

As for weight training, I go to Curves. It is actually circuit training which combines strength training and cardio. The machines are hydraulic (?) resistance - meaning the resistance is in proportion to the amount of force you exert- there are no weights attached. That way you control how hard you want to work out. It is great for toning and losing inches. I have lost 18.5 inches since June and I go there about 3 days a week in addition to doing 45 minutes  to an hour of cardio on 3 other days of the week.  I think they have a two week free trial period so that you can see how you like it before you join.

Hey Morgan, I do pretty much the same as you - when I go to work I pack everything that I need to eat for the day and eat every two-three hours. Eating at work is the easy part for me, but I work from home three days a week and that can be a challenge, because if I am stressed or anything there is stuff nearby. So needless to say I have learned not to keep a lot of junk food in the house. Eating every few hours keeps my "mind" on a schedule and has helped me to tremendously cut down on any emotional eating.

Chat with you ladies tomorrow!

Hey ladies,

So this Am was the same weight as yesterday 207.2- but I am closing on the start of my period, SOOOO, we all know what that means. I hope no one is offended I am being open about my womanly stuff.

Anyways- did great today at work- went to the "in laws" (not married yet) for dinner and had a great meal, she is a fab. cook soooo I hope that the scale doesn't murder my mentality in the morning.

I am still fighting this cold, my twin daughter is fighting off an allergic reaction to something, we thought amoxicillin but the hives are bigger now, its been a stressful week. School, hormones, sick baby, yikes. I am sleepy tonight so I am going to take the night off.

I was down to 203 right before sept 1, so I think the weight gain after that is what I am losing now, thats why it is coming off, we'll just keep  going.

nite

Welcome Laina29!! We welcome anyone that wants to join the forum!! The more the merrier!

Congrats on your 10.5lb loss so far. That is great. I am in the same boat as my first major goal is to get past the ugly 2's. But I do not have the excuse as to gaining weight from child birth. No kids yet here, but that is partly why I am trying so hard to lose this weight...we want kids soon. We are trying, but I want to make sure I am healthy and feel good when that time comes.  And in the mean time I want to have some confidence and higher self esteem as well.

So, this morning I weighed in the same 223.6. I knew it could not keep going down so rapidly. Yesterday I ate a little more maintenance and tonight it will be back to having a deficit. I have been to the gym every night so far this week and will be back tonight and tomorrow night. Saturday will be tough as we have the Wisconsin Badger football game to attend to....which means drinks and grilling! Just need to do everything in moderation...right :)

Well, back to work! Hope everyone has a great day! Kristi

Welcome Laina! We would love to have you! Congrats on your progress so far! I'm glad to meet someone with four kids - I usually get the raised eyebrows when I tell people that I have four - two boys and two girls. Twins are exciting - I am a twin and my sister has twins. Morgan, I see you've got twins too - cool! Like you Laina, everybody here can't wait to see that 199 on the scale!

Kristi - great job with the exercise this week! You will do fine on Saturday. You have the right idea of moderation in mind so as long as you keep reminding yourself of that you will be ok.

Morgan - we all can relate to TTOM, so I don't think it bothers anyone if you talk about it. I hope you and your daughter get to feeling betterSmile You've done really well with your exercise this week, so you're allowed a night offWink

Well I am feeling better this morning. Still not 100%, but well enough to at least keep food down today. Today is my husband's and youngest daughter's birthday. I'm taking my husband to Olive Garden for lunch. Then there's the cake and ice cream tonight. I did really well when my son and older daughter had their birthdays in the past few months, so I think I will do ok not over-indulging with too much cake. Plus I don't think my stomach will tolerate it todaySmile

the scale read 118.4 this morning. Not sure how accurate that is since I didn't eat or drink much yesterday. We'll see tomorrow.

Have a great day everyone!

Can I join too?  I'm the heaviest though:(  I am a mom of 3, 2 boys ages 7 and 11 and one girl who is 9 months.  I gained a lot of weight during my seperation and divorce, lost 40 pounds but gained it all back after I got remarried and had another baby.  I'm a big stress eater, so trying to juggle going back to school, 3 kids and a full time job gets to me sometimes.  I can't seem to find the time.  I have started doing cardio for 30 minutes a day plus weights.  I've cut back my calories and am trying to find some time for myself.  I need all the support I can get!

I started CC two years ago.  Then I was over 350 lbs.  I hope to get back on the wagon and lose those pounds by communicating with others.  So here I am.

Welcome cc91428 and betterbe!!! We love to see new people join. As you can see this forum is for anyone working towards a goal!! It is either to lose a certain amount by a certain date, a certain amount entirely or just to get some extra motivation.  I guess we do put it out to anyone over 200...cuz we all know that is a tough number to get past, but really anyone any size is welcome...just put your current stats and goals!!

And then if you feel you want to post daily, weekly or bi-weekly you can do so...if you want to vent..go for it, if you need advice..go for it, if you can give advice...please do!!

So, far we have been going for almost 3 weeks now and everyday is a new day and a new challenge.  If anyone has any fun ideas to keep us motivated please share...weekly challenges or even daily! Please share with the group!

Good lukc to everyone for the last night before tomorrows weigh in!! Keep going strong! Make it a good night!

Hey

Kristi, Sharyn, Lindsay, Chipdog, and Julie!

And welcome, laina, cc91428, and betterbe

Returning ladies- keep up the good work, I really like how we got to see our weights differ throughout the week. Sharyn, sorry you are feeling so sick still, and I'm sure you'll do great with the temptation-  I still have that Almond Joy sitting in my car near the odometer- its been since the Monday before Halloween!

Kristi- Yeah girl- keep it up, I had the same weight 2 days then was down a half pound!

Laina, awesome to hear you have twins too- Mine are boy girl twins and are just about 15 months- I got down to 186 after my first, she is 6, then poof, I was pregnant again- I just don't want it to take 5 years again!

cc91428- We all have a lot in common, school, work, kids, but most of all we all need support-

I think we are one forum group that is actually staying in touch! It really helps!

betterbe- you are a great inspiration as is! GOOD LUCK!

Alright- tomorrow is weigh in morning- hope everyone is ready!

Morgan's Thursday stats!

morning weight......... 206.6Laughing

exercise- running around at work-

watching what I eat- and having a little treat

I am having popcorn with yeast and butter tonight...I've been drooling all day thinking about it!

see you all in the AM

Hello - I am new and want to say that I am excited to see this great group of ladies encouraging each other.  I have several health issues, a messed up immune system due to life threatening allergic reactions.  These reactions have blessed me with Fibromyalgia, Depression, and joint degeneration (no knee cap on the right - waiting for a knee replacement).  These severe allergic reactions have also given me huge chunks of weight gain (20 - 45 some months).  I am now working with a great NP, and the depression is GONE!!!  What a wonderful thing!  Now, that I can see clearly, I can do more to loose weight.  And I am already down 40 pounds.  Yeah Me!

Here are the stats:

Age- 41

5'8 1/2

large frame

weight as of today- 360

ten% of starting weight (my first goal)- is 360  (I have been at it since March) and just got there today & found this group!  My original weight was 400.  So - Now the chick that said she was the biggest can e-mail me back and we can get this fat off!.

10% of 360 is 36 pounds

ultimate goal- I think probably around 170.

I am very happy to have found this forum! Hope to get to know you all more!!

Wecome Johnnysgirl!

Great accomplishments! Thanks for the support and great outlook, you have done great. I hope we all can continue to work together and lose this unwanted weight!

Nice to meet you-

Morgan

Today's Date: Friday, November 14

Last weeks Weight: 211.0

10% loss = 191.0 lbs

Today's Weight: 207.8

This weeks Loss: 3.2lbs

Overall weight loss so far- 4.2 lbs

Pounds to till mini goal- 16.8 lbs

COUNTDOWN TO UNDER 200LBS- 8 LBS TO GO!!!

Weekly weigh ins

Starting weight- 212.0

1st- Friday, October 31, 2008 - 209.8

2nd- Friday, November 7, 2008- 211.0

3rd Friday, November 14, 2008-207.8

I ate pretty late snack last night, popcorn, I really really wanted some, I figured I deserved a treat. And although my weight this Am is higher than yesterdays, I have still maintained a loss, I think that it is great to see that. I believe I am a little bloated this morning. Some serious water retention, as well as other stuff going on!

Good luck to everyone else, I love the support!!!

WE ROCK!!!!!Laughing

TGIF Everyone!!!! Welcome to Johnnysgirl!! Great job on all the success you have had so far!  You are obviously on the right trail to reach the goals you have made!! Keep it up!

Also, great job to everyone else this week...not only on the weight loss and excersise, but also the posting everyone has done. I think for me it really has helped me stay motivated. Every morning I look forward to hearing from everyone and how they are doing....the good and bad because we all go through it...that is why we are here.

So, on that note:

Today's Date: Friday, November 14, 2008

Last weeks Weight: 228.8

10% loss = 209.7lbs

Today's Weight: 224.6lbs

This weeks Loss: -4.2lbs

Pounds till 1st 10% goal: 14.9lbs

Ultimate goal: 170lbs-could probably go lower, but that seems reasonable...first major goal is to pass the 200 mark!!

I felt I had a great week of working out...I have been to the gym every night and have burned at least 600 cals each time. But I think I need to change it up now...the elliptical is getting old and boring. So, I think I may attempt a little running on the treadmill tonight..wish me luck as I will need it :)

I had a fairly heavy breakfast dinner last night (eggs, potatoes and chicken). So, that seems to have stayed with me..oh I forgot to mention the couple glasses of wine ( I actually had an hour to myself after the gym..SO NICE)

I am not complaining at all though, cuz I feel 4lbs is a huge number and no one should complain with that. I just know next week may be less if any, but I am going to keep on truckin!!

Good luck everyone...have a fabulous and fun weekend!! Kristi

Happy Friday everyone!

Morgan and Kristi - you girls rock! congrats on the awesome week!

betterbe, johnnysgirl and cc91428- Welcome aboard! Thanks for sharing your stories and goals with us! We hope that this forum will support you in reaching your goals.

So yesterday went ok. I did really well. We went to Red Lobster instead of Olive Garden. I did overdo it on the cheese buscuits - I ate one at lunch, one at snack and one at dinner. But the piece of birthday cake was reasonable and the ice cream portion was reasonable. So overall it was a good day of birthday celebration. I did interval training on the treadmill last night for 50 minutes. Hope to do the same tonight. As I suspected, the 218.4 didn't hold, but my weight still stayed below 220 so that is good.

Today's Date: Friday, November 14, 2008

Last weeks Weight: 222.8

10% loss = 199 lbs

Today's Weight: 219.6 lbs

This weeks Loss: 3.2 lbs (it's a little misleading since I was retaining water last week. my weight the week before that was 221)

Pounds till 1st 10% goal: 19.1 lbs

ultimate goal is 140. Hope to be 215 by Thanksgiving and 205 by Christmas.

Have a great weekend! - Sharyn

Hey Ladies,

We had an AWESOME week!

I can't wait to see the rest of the posts- I am amazed at how many posts we have had in the last 3 weeks. Seriously, the help from you guys, especially you krisit for pushing me to start this thread has made this the longest, but shortest, 3 weeks of  LOSING!!! I am excited because keeping in contact is a little MORE than motivating!

uggg, I am so bloated and I definitely have not been counting what I have been eating the last two days- I know there is a deficit because I am not eating very much, but still...then tonight, I made homeade bread, this AM homeade banana muffins, and MOCHA MOUSSE!!!! CAN YOU TELLLLLLL.....pms!!!!

I had a real question though, does anyone ever feel larger when theystart to lose weight? I sometimes feel like I am getting bigger...UG. YUCK.

Talk to you all sooooon!

Laina- Awesome week girl! Keep it up! You definitely have time to get below that 200 mark by Christmas!

Morgan-it is so funny that you asked that question. When I was able to get into a size smaller last month, I felt so good and proud. But now that I have gotten used to seeing myself that size smaller, now I feel fat all over again and even with the scale going down, I feel like I look bigger. Everyone is telling me otherwise, but I think what it is more than anything is that I know I have not yet reached my goal and it's my mind's way of saying "Don't stop now". I think part of it to is that as you get smaller, your clothes get bigger and as you know, clothes that are bigger make you look and feel bigger. Unfortunately for me I am between sizes so there is not a lot I can do about it right now. What about you though? How are your clothes fitting?

I didn't get to exercise on Friday and Saturday because I started feeling sick again. I felt better this a.m. so I got on the treadmill for an hour. My weight this a.m. is 219.8
