STARBUCKS! Lotsa Drinks at 140 calories or less!

Quote  |  Reply

K so, I just started working at starbucks and i was scared id be drinking all my calories away everyday because we get free drinks. But i was amazed at how many drinks they had that actually werent so bad! (you know, besides a tall non-fat latte....which is good but can get boring).  So ive put together a little list. Hope you enjoy! :D

The Basics:

Non-fat Latte - Tall = 100, Grande = 130

Cappicino - Tall = 60, Grande = 80, Venti = 110

Non-fat Caramel Macchiato - Tall = 140

Non-fat Vanilla Tea Misto - Tall = 110

Shaken Iced Tea Lemonade - Tall = 100, Grande = 130

Shaken Tea (no lemonade, just tea and syrup) - Tall = 60, Grande = 80, Venti = 130

Coffee Frap Light - Tall = 90, Grande = 130

Mocha Frap Light - Tall = 110

Caramel Frap light = 130

Modified!:

They have Sugar-free Vanilla, Hazelnut, Caramel, and Cinamon Dolce Syrup. Put those in ANYTHING and itès no extra calories.

Good Choices would be.....

Shaken Iced Tea lemonade (With Sugar-Free Vanilla Syrup instead of the Classic) - Tall = 40, Grande = 50, Venti = 60

Shaken Iced Tea (No lemonade just tea and Sugar-free Vanilla Syrup) - All Sizes = 0 cals! (Im having the Passion tea one right now! soooo good!)

Non-fat Sugar-free Vanilla Tea-Misto - Tall = 50, Grande = 65, Venti = 85 (I often get the Venti Sugar-free Vanilla chai tea misto in place of their Chai Latte, yummmmm

Also, if you enjoy their brewed coffee. maybe try throwing some syrup in there. At 20 cals per pump for any of the syrups you could really sweeten up your drink.

The Bad News:

And here of some of the worst....

White Chocolate Mocha - Tall = 370, Grande = 470, Venti = 580

Double Chocolate Chip Frap - Tall = 380, Grande = 510, Venti = 670

ohhhhh myyyyyy

Anyway!

Hope this helped!

:D

Carried over from the other thread recently on Starbucks and their hot chocolates: is there a "Short" option, too?

There is a short option. Although starbucks doesnt really have the nutritional information available, the tall non-fat hot chocolate is 190 calories without whip. so with the short, it would be about 140-150 calories

My favourite Starbucks drinks, all less than ~150 cals and without artificial sweeteners (btw, I just prefer soy milk over regular milk. Cal counts are pretty much the same with non-fat milk). The key is to order only the tall size, order drinks "half-sweet" or "unsweetened" to reduce the sugar & avoid anything with whipped cream:

HOT:

  • tall half-sweet vanilla soy latte (~ 140 cals)
  • tall one-pump vanilla soy coffee misto (~50 cals)
  • tall half-sweet vanilla soy chai misto (fewer calories than a "Chai tea latte" because it's made with just a teabag and steeped milk...~ 60 cals)

COLD:

  • tall or grande half sweet iced coffee (~40 - 70 cals)
  • tall or grande half sweet, non-fat Starbucks Doubleshot on ice (~30 - 70 cals)
  • tall or grande half sweet Passion or Black or Green tea (~40-60 cals)
  • tall or grande unsweetened Passion or Black or Green tea Lemonade. (~50 - 80 cals)

I haven't been to a Starbucks since I left for college, but this summer (and most of last year) I would get a Tall Iced Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte.  If my memory serves me correctly, it is 60 calories (90 if you don't get it iced) and if you add a bit of cinnamon and sweetener, it is absolute heaven!

But I haven't seen that mentioned yet on this thread... so I wonder, do they still make those?

Thanks for putting that list together!

I love caramel macchiatos, but what would the cals be for a tall if I used the sugar free syrup?  I know there has to be something else in it that makes it taste so yummy!

Thanks for that I have always avoided Starbucks, now I know their are options for me as a treat!

Watch the sugar content  especially fructose!  Just because its low cal and low fat doesnt mean its a good idea.  Sugar/sweetness content will just make you crave more.

A deliciously well brewed black coffee (with a  touch of heavy cream if you must) is a wonderful, low fat, low cal, and low sugar/carb drink.  Starbucks makes very nice brewed coffees.  The appreciation of black coffee is not unlike wine.  Sip it slow and take in the lovely aroma.  I highly recommend experimenting with different black coffees to see what you like.  I bet you never miss those frappuccinos and lattes.

Enjoy.

One of my favorite treats to myself is a triple, iced, skinny with SF hazlenut.  I do have to ad a couple of packets of sweetener.  The calories aren't listed anywhere, so I had my favorite (most patient) barista make me one and we went through the ingredients one by one.  So, my drink really amounts to 83 cals, the in 1 cup of skim milk.  I appreciated that she "walked" me through it, and she got a nice tip!  My only question for Starbucks is, when making an iced drink, there is less milk in it than in a hot drink, so why do they charge the same price?  Hmm.  Don't worry, I'm not complaining to you directly, I would voice my query directly to Starbucks.  I'm just glad to know that there is a helpful barista out there that doesn't roll his/her eyes at you when you ask a question or don't order something properlyLaughing.  If that's my only problem for the day, than I am indeed lucky.  Enjoy your job.  I used to work as a barista for a local resort cafe so I learned the ropes quickly and it was fun most of the time.  I did get customers roll their eyes at me because we wern't "Starbucks".  They also didn't pay "Starbucks" prices either.  This always made me say to myself whatever!

In hot drinks, like the latte, the milk is steamed and foam is added on the top, so it's probably the same amount of milk in the iced & hot (if you account for liquid milk + foam).
