Im 5'7 and currently weigh around 107lbs. I realize that I needs to gain weight, but dont know where to start. I struggle to eat 1200 calories a day and ive read that i should aim for at least 2500 calories a day to gain weight. How do i make that kind of jump without "freaking out"??? In additon to eating so little each day i exercise for at least an hour daily...I also read that exercise should not be done while in the recovery process. How do i convince myself that I cant exercise while at the same time doubling what i normally eat?? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
When you say 'recovery' does that mean you've been struggling with an eating disorder? There are easy and practical ways to double your food intake but the 'freaking out' part is something for which you need to mentally prepare. It's a case of allowing the logical/rational you (I need to eat and stop exercising so much to stay alive) to be more convincing than whatever it is that's made you think the reverse. Could be a little 'psychobabble' but maybe standing in front of the mirror each morning and reminding yourself what you need to do could help sway your opinion?
Where to start? I always start with breakfast....
A substantial breakfast gives you a boost, gets you off to a good start calorie-wise and makes the rest of the day look that bit more do-able. Good luck
