When did YOU start to gain weight?

(Most significant weight gain obviously. I don't mean that binge you had last week after you went partying with your friends. :P )

I'm pretty sure I first started packing on the pounds during my preteen years.

About a year after college, when I had my first sit-in-an-office-all-day job.

I'm 5'3".  I made it through to the end of college at 117.  That was up from the 102 I was through most of high school, but it was mainly muscle and I was still eating healthy, so it wasn't a problem.  Every summer, I worked jobs that had me walking 5-10 miles/day, so even if I ate junk I was usually fine, and I took yoga during the school year.

When I first got out of college, I had film internships, which meant a lot of running around and--even when in the office--very little time spent not on your feet.  It wasn't until a year later, when I decided I didn't want to work in film anymore, that I started gaining.  There I was, sitting in an office all day long, not getting any real exercise (I always hated going to the gym--have only started to enjoy it in the last year, when I picked up running as a sport), and eating the same old crap.  I went up to 135 at my highest.

I know it doesn't seem like much, and even then I was within a healthy BMI, but for someone who was a size 2 most of her life, the prospect of buying a size 8 or 10 was upsetting.  Now I just have to keep up the healthy lifestyle I've developed, and add to my regular 30-60 mins exercise/day if I want to get from the 124 I am now to the 115 I want to be and stay there.

I didn't gain wieght until I was 30 or so.  I took my first desk job then and gained 10 lbs.  A year latter I got pregnant and was very sick during the pregnancy.  I gained a whopping 76 lbs!  I

lost everything but 10 lbs after the baby was born and it stayed off for a while while I was at home.  But as soon as I took another desk job I gained more weight.

Then last year I got sick and they put me on steroids.  Another 20-25 lbs on top of the pudge I already had and my weight hit it's heaviest.  I was 152.  That does not sound like much - but it was 50% more than I weighed on my wedding day.

I got pregnant when I was 15 and acquired gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia (causes extremely high bp). Because of this my body went crazy and I gained 160 lbs in the span of about 3-5 months. I have battled obesity ever since. Before that I weighted 115lbs at 5'4".

college. freshman 30. :( still trying to undo the damage.

I gained it little by little since I started college in 2005. After I graduated last year, it started jumping up noticeably because I moved out on my own and learned how to cook.

probably when i was around 15. i was never fat though, probably not even chubby, but i had always been a skinny girl so packing on a few pounds made me feel uncomfortable. anyway, ever since then i've been struggling with my weight. i lose in the summer, i gain during the winter months. probably because i'm much more active when the weather is nice and i can workout outside. i hate the gym.

My first pregnancy. I packed on 85 pounds and I only lost 20 of it. Then when my daughter was 4, I lost 50 pounds, then I got pg with my second Undecided

Gained 30 pounds with him, have gotten that all off, but I have to lose the extra 25 pounds from my first! Dang kids! haha

Probably around 4 years old.   I wasnt really chubby when I was three, but i have pictures of myself at 4 years old and i was bigger than i should have been.  From then on it just got worse.  I was around 180 in 4th or 5th grade and I was 212lbs in 7th grade.   I hit my highest weight of 252.5lbs when I was 16 and then again at 19.   Now Im 20 and I weigh 221 lbs.

11th grade. I had been about 90 lbs up until the summer before 11th grade. I went to Europe and somehow gained 20 lbs. I got back and stepped on the scale, and I was about 110 lbs.. I didn't even realize until my family started saying that I've gained a lot of weight. Since then, I haven't been able to get smaller than about 100 lbs.

I think either in my junior year of high school or senior year of high school I gained a lot of weight.  I got mononucleosis the winter of my junior year, which made me lactose intolerant (it was a phase, thank god) that lasted through my senior year so I was usually very bloated and I think I weighed 140-150 somewhere around there.  Mostly standard (lowest class level) freshmen take PE, but GT/AP (highest level) seniors take PE too.  The girls in my locker row thought I was pregnant...and a few of them actually were.

Then after my freshman year of college I was about 180lbs (I'm 5'4").  During my sophomore year I took a gym class every quarter and after sophomore year I think I was somewhere around 165.

Now I also have a congenital liver disease so I was probably holding a lot of water and "junk" weight (junk being the stuff that my liver can't process cuz it's cirrhotic and my enlarged spleen also can't deal with).

After my junior year I was diagnosed with the liver disease (Wilson's disease) and immediately enrolled in a treatment program.  With the treatment comes a strict eating schedule, so I lost some weight by not always snacking. lol

I was 155 at the start of this school year, started CC in April and am now 140.

My present goal is 135, my final goal is 130.
