When should you start losing weight?
I've been dieting for a week today, eating around 1300 cals a day and exercising. However, i looked on the scales today and it shows that i haven't lost anything at all! What's happening? should it be like this or have i done something wrong?
took a couple of weeks before I saw 2lb loss, then 2 more weeks, then 3 lbs... then another week, then 1 lb.
The hardest part about this whole endeavor has been having the patience to let the plan work!!!!
Keep reading this site - you'll get an idea of what to expect now (and later if/when you hit a plateau) - once you realize how many other people went through the same thing but stuck with it and DID lose the weight, you'll trust what you are doing a lot more. Just stick with it! That is the best thing you can do!
Good luck!
Last year when I was trying to loose weight (is that the right loose?), for for months, I lost NOTHING! bc I was working out but eating the same amt of food. Make sure you're measuring/weighing EVERYTHING (don't say you est. or aren't motivated to do that if you don't...it's all mental).
This year, I noticed after about 2 weeks. I only weigh once a week and I don't get worried or excited about the numbers until they are the same 2 weeks in a row.
hmm...1300 plus working out? You need to up your cals. 1300 is a good number for some who don't workout, but you may be doing yourself more harm. Make sure you're not going over 800-900 deficit...it's not worth it.
Keep up the good work and stay focused. It's only been a week. I typically read here: it didn't come on overnight and it won't come off overnight either.
YOU CAN DO IT! :)
lose. :)
ETA: Only cause she ASKED!!
Seems to be a commone question for new members (including me when I started). WHEN WILL I LOSE!
It is very frustrating, but hang in there, if you ask most dieters it just takes a while, your body needs to adjust to what you are doing and I mean internally.
Also measure yourself....it might show that what first.
For me it took over a month to lose and I read as long as 3 months for some....depending how messed up you can be internally.
But on the way you should start feeling healthier and with more energy.
Just hold on....keep chatting and STAY WITH THE PROGRAM! I promise it works!
I have lost more weight with this program than any in the last 14 years!
I KNOW it works!
LOL! I KNEW that didn't look right! HAHA!
mperic - I've seen tons of people on these forums type "loose" when they really mean "lose." I don't know if it's because they don't know which one to use (this is a very international site and not everyone knows perfect english) or if it's a slip of the fingers on the keyboard. As long as the meaning is gotten, I wouldn't worry about it. This is the 21st century internet, a world of texting language and more phonetic spelling and purposeful misspellings than you can shake a stick at! lol

Which, IMHO, is a travesty!

NO! NO FREE PASSES! INTERNETS ARE NO EXCUSE! GOOD GRAMMAR IS GOOD GRAMMAR!
HAHAHAH GRAMMAR NAZIS COMING RIGHT FOR YOU! muahahaha
just kidding! =)
Like I said - I only commented cause she asked (and i appreciate her concern! lol)... And it really does annoy some people even if we are able to overlook it without comment. The forums I can forgive because its like slipping into your accent when you go home - casual environment and all - but when I read articles or see commercials with spelling/grammar errors, I swear my head comes this close to exploding. How do you expect me to believe you know what you're talking about if you don't even know the difference between do and due? And yes. Even internet articles.
Rock band II spells it "charater" in one area. Really? yes. Really. Nobody cares anymore, and I am afraid that it is just going to keep creeping up through the forums right into my assembly instructions "u tk part B & put bye sexon A w/ glu than u haf 2 w8 too hrs 2 dri"
Its the apathy that hurts.

I guess I could have summed mine up this way too, instead of the book. LOL :)

LOL chrysalis
I forgive bad grammar and spelling on the internet because as you said it is a very casual environment. It's also very fast-paced, which might contribute. But yeah, products need to use spell check and grammar check. A few days ago on the news (WBAL ch.11 Baltimore, MD) there was a story for which a screen of bullet points was required. The anchor went through the points, one of which had to do with losing something, and the text that came up with it said "loose." I lost my faith in the world a little bit more at that. Although I almost didn't notice because I'm so used to the mix-up from CC. XD
