Good morning!  Great idea of starting a new group!  Let me start off with a little about me.

Age: 28

Height: 5'6"

Weight: 208

Goal weight: 140

I've got a long way to go...but determined!  I've got two little boys at home that are keeping me motivated and I want them to grow up in a healthy household!  Can't wait to hear from more people!

Im in too!! To much fats food, not enough exercise and no water has been my routine for the past few weeks.

Height: 5'8.5

Weight: 238

Goal: 200 (this is my 1st mini goal)

rach9898, Our stats aer very very similar.An i can use some company if you also like.I have been at this weight for almost 3 weeks now and not able to go down.If you dont mind, can we compare on the calories reqd and defcict reqd?

Sounds great.. So 4 members so far!  Once we get a few more, I'll post everyones name and all of that good stuff :)

I am thinking that we will all be great motivation for each other!  This is my 2nd time back with CC, I was frustrated with not losing "fast" enough.  But losing fast is not always the best route to go as I have found out.

This just hit me today that I REALLY needed to get back on track, so I brought nothing for lunch today.. But a trip to Wendy's for a salad couldnt be as bad as a burger and fries.  Tomorrow I will be on track.

What do you all think about posting your menus on here?  We could probably all benefit from looking at each others so that we can get some variation in our diets.  We can only eat so much chicken :)

Here is my menu for today.. It will get better I swear :)

Breakfast:

1 Thomas Whole Wheat Mini Bagel with a tablespoon of Peanut Butter

Lunch:

1 Side Salad from Wendy's (Non-fat Dressing)

1 Small Chili

1 Diet Coke

Dinner:

2 small red potatos

Steak

Green Beans

Snacks:

1 Non-Fat Peach Yogurt

1 Medium Orange

Carrot Sticks with non fat dressing

I am going to try and get tons of water in too.  Have to go to the grocery store for lunch though. =)

I was near my short term goal in april, my new desk job has really packed on the pounds!!

I would love to join - this might give me the kick in the butt that I've been needing for a long time!!  Embarassed  I've gained over 50 lbs over the course of the last 7 years, and done lots of yo-yo dieting in between.  I tried WW but counting points just doesn't do it for me anymore. I'm happy to have found CC where I actually get to see a nutritional breakdown.  Here's a bit about me:

Height: 5'7"

Weight: 200lb

I just returned to working shift work (nasty 12 hour shifts), which I thought would be bad for my dieting but actually I find it easier to control what I eat because I pack "healthy" lunches. The work cafeteria isn't open on nights so I have to eat what I bring - LOL!    I do need to get exercising though -thats something I've really let slide. I'm thinking about buying a treadmill for at home,  which I think will help.    I look forward to being part of the new group!

Today im having an eggs (1) with some toast and a glass of milk

Lunch is a tomato sandwich (i had forgotten how much i love em!) with a little bit of olive oil mayo

dinner is spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and ceasar salad

for snacks im having cheddar cheese and a peach and carrots and hummus

Totals 1588, a bit higher than my 1400ish goal, but not by that much :D

And lots and lots of water! i had a few drinks last night n now i have to flush all that bad stuff out lol.

momofjj- of course I don't mind having a little company!

Here's the menu for the day:

Breakfast:

Skim Milk and Fiber One Honey Clusters (Yumm!!) (I'm also working on upping my fiber intake!)

Lunch:

This yummy bean soup I made a couple of days ago (380 cal a serving)

1 banana

Dinner:

Salad (with lettuce, some croutons, 2 oz. cheddar cheese, and my Salad Spritzers dressing)

4 oz. ground beef with some salsa and white rice (I like it!)

Snacks:

Oatmeal (reduced sugar)

Whole wheat pita pocket with lettuce and hummus (another yum!)

and an orange!

Total calories of: 1580! I'm trying to stick around 1600...so perfect day!  (Must stay away from vending machines at work...must stay away...)

karmavb30-  First, thanks for starting this!!  Second, your menu doesn't look bad at all!  You're getting in your veggies/fruits...that's my huge hurdle!

Count me in!  I've been trying to lose weight for quite some time, but I haven't had much motivation or a support system.  I have a 4 year old(son) and a 2 year old(daughter) that I would like to get healthy for, and of course for myself!  :)

Goal Weight: 130-140

Oh, I forgot to post my semi-menu for the day:

Breakfast: strawberry yogurt, 1/2 cup of fresh fruit

Lunch: (not the best choice, but I was in a hurry and forgot my lucnh) chicken salad from mcdonald's

I haven't made it far enough into the day to decide on dinner yet.  I have already had 5 8 oz glasses of water today.  Tonight I will begin my exercise routine: 15 minutes on the gazelle and 15 mins on the ab-lounger.   This will increase as time goes on, but I think this is a good starting routine.

Hi I am sort of new I posted my goal back in feb 08 to be 127 lbs by now and well instead of still being 208 I  am now 212 how depressing is that! I have lost and gained the first ten lbs I think 100 times  Very sick if it .Soo I will try again>>> I am 42 years old work the grave yard shift 11-7 4 nights a week on top of that I have 3 children 15 11 and 2  iIknow that my worst enemy is I do not plan my food I never  take the time for my own meals by the  time I feed the kids and do everything else I end up just grabbing what is left over and never really sitting down to a meal well if anyone has any quick diet meals that are also kid freindly that would be great also in this group dose every one post there own menu for the day that sound like that my be helpful to try and plan things out well here I go agiain with the first day of another diet I  hope this one can be the last

Mmmm.. All those menus sound yummy!  I ended up NOT having anything from Wedny's for lunch.  I had some soup and carrot sticks.. However, I am STARVING right now.  Tomorrow I think I will be more prepared.

I used to belong to this place that you had to pay and they told you what to eat.. There were weigh in's 3 times a week.. CRAZY.. But I learned a lot and lost weight..

One of their tips was to have more than half of your plate filled with veggies (green veggies).. And that you could eat as many of those as you wanted with each meal.  It truly does help!  I love the steamer bags that they have out now.  One steamer bag of Broc. could be a great snack :)

I am glad to see so many people that want to help motivate each other and who want to see us all get healthier!! =)

 THOSE THINGS ARE AWESOME!!! I usually try and eat them and half a sandwich, it makes me feel like i ate loads and I didn't waste many calories.  I apologize for typing in caps sometimes. i gotta keep caps on for work and I forget to turn if off, plus I'm too lazy to delete a retype what i've already written. i'm a bum haha

I would love to join also. I have been cc for 4 months and have lost 18lbs so far. I haven't been sticking to it the last month and really need a group to help me stay motivated. Today is my first day "back" at it so far so good.

I typcially take 2000 -2500 calories.I believe i am burning 3000 and more daily.

but not sure.

so how many calories deficit are you all getting today???

May be i am overetimating my calories burn adn so eating more.I am confused.

Posting  the menu and total caories is a wonderful idea .It is motivating.

Would anyone like to post the calorie burned and the deficit for each day also?what do you all think?

Don't be embarassed :) Today is just a start day :) I wasnt fully prepared to do this today but decided I needed to :)

Tomorrow is going to be BAD.. Birthday lunch of two of the ladies at work.. We are going to this awesome hamburger place called the Purple Cow.  I am going to be BAD at lunch tomorrow, so I am just forewarning everyone :) I am planning on having a big breakfast so that I wont be so hungry at lunch tomorrow.

We aren't going to be perfect and eat healthy everyday.. Well, I know I wont be :) My reasoning behind this is that I want to eat healthier, I want to lose the weight, and I dont want to feel unsatisfied.  If you are craving something, have it.. Just not the whole bag :) unless its veggies.. haha!

Hi all.  Today is my first day!  I've dieted many times in the past coulple years but am seriously serious this time! 

I have packed on about fifty pounds over the past three years, hard to believe.  It just sneaks up on you!  I just graduated with my master's degree to be a physician's assistant and landed a sweet job doing OB/Gyn, which i'm super excited about. 

 Now that my schedule will be more consistent and I (hopefully) won't be as stressed I am ready to commit to losing weight!

5'5" 207lbs

My current goal is to lose fifty pounds.  It seems like we all have pretty similar goals, so I'm looking forward to chatting with you ladies!

I have not been exercising at all lately!  But I'm trying to focus on a healthy diet first!

I know it's unrealistic to want to weigh what I did in college. But I just can't let that dream die!

Hi everyone!  I am so frustrated!  I have been on CC for about 9 months now but not very good at putting everything into practice.  I was a part of a challenge but gave up.  It looks like you guys have more similar stats and similar lifestyles. 

Here is a bit about me:  I am 31 years old.  I have what is pretty much a desk job but there is some heavy lifting at times.  My boyfriend and I live together.  He is both a help and a hinderance to my weight loss efforts.  He supports me working out but I have a hard time saying no when he wants to go for late night ice cream runs.  He is working out of town this week so I am hoping to be able to get myself to the gym a lot and not be easily tempted with food. 

Age: 31

Height: 5' 4"

CW: 200.6 (weighed in this morning)

GW: 120

eeeek!  that's 80 pounds!  

Like many of you have said that it's all about planning.  If I can just plan out my meals and stick to the plan I know it can work.
