I have just got back to the ellipitical and have found it harder that I remember.
I started doing 15 minutes a day and I am up to 40 but it's at lever 1 and 3 and I can hardly make it through.
Any advise, I would like to be able to burn more than 150 calories a day on it, which is what the machine is showing , however when I log my time on calorie counter it always shows more. Does anyone know how accurate they are?
the one on the machine is the more accurate one. and have you tried interval training? that will definitely help you do both a) burning more calories and b) building up your levels higher and higher.
Thanks, this morning was better. I burned more calories by turning the intensity level up a little. Also I put some incline on it. Not sure what made the difference, maybe I just finally seeing some results. I have been using everyday for two weeks and felt I was not getting any stronger.
If you use one of the automatic programs on the elliptical it should set the incline and increase the resistance a bit so you don't have to do it manually. And dali's right, interval training is the best/fastest way to burn fat and increase your endurance (especially when starting a new type of physical activity). There are interval programs on almost all elliptical machines.
