Hey everyone, I know I need to lose alot more than that, but my body seem to adjust to anything that I do. The doctors tell me if you lose 1lb a week I should be happy. So I'm gonna try to be more realistic. Anyway let's do weighins on Sundays. And get started!

Reason: Moved from Weight Loss to Games & Challenges forum, thanks.

a day late.. ooops! i'll be better this week - in so many ways!

CW 66.9 KG, about 148 lbs.. at 5'5 and now 10 lbs to go! (as a start :-) )

I am a day late too.  SW:136,  CW:136, Lost: 0 but maintained throught the holidays!  Hope to have something in lost column next week.

I don't think my first weigh-in was accurate since I was at work.  Anyway, now I'm 148.8, so techinically up almost 4 pounds.  But it's an interesting study in physiology because even though I've never weighed so much in my life, my pants are much looser and more comfortable than when I was 5 lbs lighter.  Muscle denser than fat, etc.

On an activity note- I've increased my crossfit class from once to twice a week and signed up for the Great Aloha Run, a 8.15 mile run through Honolulu.  It's on February 16 so I have about 6 weeks to train.  Surface street running has not been part of my workout routine for over 5 years and I've never run more than 5 miles at a time, so I have my work cut out for me.

hello,

I'm new and I have made up my mind to lose the weight. I thought maybe joining a group would help. Since I don't have a clue about where to to start. I would love to join you in loosing weight. Where do you think I should start?

A day late as well.... gained 2 lbs over the holidays.

CW: 135lbs

GW: 125lbs

Hi tesla25

I'll respond to your question by what I have done to lose weight.  Everyone does things differently, so what may work for me won't work for you.  I started by cutting out processed foods.   I eat eggs, oatmeal, ckn breast, salads, fresh fruit, fat free/low fat dairy, ect.  I save the weekend for treats and eating special foods.  I found that really didn't help, cuz I overate.  I have learned to cut back at that too, tho.  I started walking 2 mi per day, and now up to 4.  I make small changes at first because it tends to be easier than doing too much.  I overeat when I am stressed or bored, so that is something I need to still work on.  Hope I was a little help!  Good luck!

Want to add,  processed foods meaning boxed, canned or frozen meals.

Just a heads up... I don't have access to GOOD bathroom weighing scales at college, but I'm going to order some on my own. But until then I won't be able to weigh myself - which means I will miss the weigh in on Sunday. As soon as I get the scales I will update. :)

FYI. ;)

Sounds good, I'll toss my hat in.

Me:

22

5'11"

240lbs

The Diet:

Half portion or so of what I would normally eat, plus a Slim Fast, and no more boredom snacking. Aprox. 1300-1400 calories a day.

Excercise:

1 hour on the recumbent bike daily, and starting HundredPushups.com challenge.

Good luck everybody! :)

I know we are supposed to wait until sunday to weigh in but i put all my weight from being stomach sick.... i knew i was going to gain it back.. but it's still depressing.

Current weight... 142.4

::tear::

see ya at weigh ins sunday... I'll continue to eat healthy and going to the gym 2night.. and for the rest of the week =)

Does anyone ever feel they have license to cheat on the eating if the scale goes down?  I went to the doctor and the scale said 147, so down 1.8 since Monday (totally different scales so not an accurate measure of change, but I'll take it).   When I got back to my office, I thought "well, my eating hasn't been terribly disciplined yet I lost weight so I now I can have chips" so I had maybe 10 Maui onion potato chips.  And 5 garlic bagel crisps.  And an extra miso chicken thigh.  And a serving of pork stirfry made at home with OJ instead of that rich, fatening sauce.  And I enjoyed it all!  The end result was about 150 calories above my limit.

On an up note, I did go jogging/walking for 2.5 mi even though I was majorly sore from my last workout 2 days prior.

I am getting close to TTOM so I am retaining water, I usually start bloating a week before I start and then it goes down a few days into it (Sorry if TMI). I can bloat up to 5lbs so yeah. I will give my weight from yesterday (Saturday) because I feel blah today.

I'm bummed

Last week 127.2

This week 126.8

lost only .4

The kicker here is I was down to 125.4 on Friday, I saved my calories all day so we could go out for my husband's birthday dinner.  I tracked my calories and ate what I burned but didn't go over.  The next day I was up to 127.2, now I'm only down to 126.8!!  I know, I know, I shouldn't weigh myself everyday because of fluctuations, and I'm retaining water because of TTOM.  I'm just bummed to fluctuate that much.  Why can't the 125.4 be today?

3rd weigh in

SW: 128

Last Week: 123.8

CW:121.8

Loss: 2.0 lbs.

I weighed 120.0 on Friday, but then I drank some beer that night and of course, I gained back almost two pounds of water weight.  My hope is that I can get down to 119 lbs. by next Saturday.

I'm not alone...Friday I was down but by Saturday AM I had gained for the week.  I didn't even go out on Friday.
