Hi, I started CC on the 18th. I haven't lost anything yet but my goal is 25lbs. I am 5'10" and currently 180lbs, I'd like to be around 155lbs before June. Would anyone like to join my group so we can help each other stay motivated???

I started on the 24th, I am 5 ft 5 and approximately 210lbs (wince). I have a long way to go to get down to my target of 135, and I need friends to help me get there. I have virtually no friends locally (my best friend lives more than 1000 miles away from me (*cry). I need all the help I can get. I want to get as close to my goal as possible before summer. I'm eyeballing a sexy swimsuit for this summer and I would love to be able to wear it.

The weekly weigh-in sounds like a great idea!  I'll try to keep myself off of the scale until Tuesdays.  That damn thing calls my name every morning!

Hi Guys- Just wanted to make you all aware that I have gone ahead and made this a closed group, meaning those that are on now are in the group and we will not take anymore, otherwise it will get way too big and confusing to manage. We currently have about 10-11 members right now I believe.
Actually 12 members total including me, I think that's a good number! If you have any close friends who want to join I can add them but I don't want to get too many more because as I said it will get way too hard to manage the more members we have :-).

I just read over the advice posted earlier. The breakfast part is tough. I'm sure it increases metabolism but it also makes me hungrier!!! A lot hungrier! I do eat breakfast but not until about 9:00 even though I'm awake at 6:00. If I eat at 6 or 7 am than by 9:00 I'm absolutely starving and I eat again...I've found that half my calories for the day are gone by noon that way.

Anyone else experience the same thing?

Sparker - Yes, I seem to have the same problem about eating really early.  I usually eat a packet of the Hunger Control oatmeal before work just before 7am and I'm usually wanting something else to eat by 9-9:30ish.  At least I'm at work most days and can't eat too much, so I usually just pack a granola bar and eat that until lunch time.  It's tough though.  I really don't think I could eat a large breakfast and then a very small dinner like the post said... I usually look forward to eating dinner and spend most of my calories then.  I know, I need to change...
I don't think I'm going to have much luck with the weigh-in tomorrow... we bought a new scale the other day and it said I weighed more than I thought my original starting weight of 181lbs. was.  I guess my new "starting weight" will be 182.2lbs Frown, since that's what it was when my hubby and I weighed-in yesterday.  I guess I don't know how much I really was when I started last week.  That new scale is NOT my friend so far...  Not sure if it'll show any difference tomorrow, but we'll see.

I completely agree w/ you guys about the big breakfast thing, not only will it make me more hungy than usual, I just do not have the time on the week days for a large breakfast. I just wanted to make sure you guys got that info. since it may be helpful to some.

k- don't worry about the weigh in tomorrow, it's the first week and like I told sparker earlier, no reason to get to disappointed on the first week bc I think we all have quite a ways to go!

I think we just need to find what works for us. It's our first week!!! We'll figure it out. I'm not going to worry about the weigh-in tomorrow either.

Good morning everyone! I guess it's Tuesday, so that means weigh-in time. Here goes...

Starting weight: 182.2 lbs. (new scale - weight as of this weekend)

Current weight: 180.2 lbs.

Total weight loss: 2 lbs.

Wow, to have lost two pounds in just a couple of days makes me wonder how much water weight that is... I guess I'm just happy to see the number go down.

Good morning girls!  After todays weigh-in I am:

Starting: 148 lbs.

Current: 145.5 lbs.

Total loss = 2.5 lbs.

Can't wait to hear about everyone else's good news!

Total Loss: Half of a damn pound :-(

Well, it's only the first week still! So far, Renee is winning w/ 2.5 lbs lost. Congrats Renee and great work!

I started today on CC but I've been working out since last week, and dieting my whole life. I too would like to lose weight by June. I'm 134 and want to be 110. I've always been very healthy and fit but I'm 33 now and can't get away with old habits anymore. It's starting to show. I'm not looking at this as a diet but as a turning point of a lifetime of healthy eating.
shea1d, don't let the 1/2 lbs discourage you! Just think that you are thin and you will be. Always keep your self esteem up it's the most important part!!!!!!!!

I lost .8  BLAH, oh well, it's better than nothing. Almost a pound. I went from 160.8 to 160. Congrats everyone.

So weigh day today.....

Start weight 182

Todays weight 182!!!!

Stayed the bloody same!! I know why though i had a few too many glasses of wine last week, one lunch out and sunday lunch at the inlaws with yet more glasses of wine. I really am ready to knuckle down this week. My only thing this week is my sons first birthday which is on mothers day so we are all going out as a family for lunch. I will choose as wisely as i can and will workout a lil extra this week so i can have a few glasses of wine!! Well done everyone who lost.

 Here are my stats as of this morning:

Starting: 190lbs (starting CC on the 17th)

Current: 185lbs (this morning)

Total loss = 5lbs.

 

I'm half way to my first mini goal! It feels good to step on the scale and see the evil numbers go down!   Good luck to us!  Great job everyone!

Must be full moon or something - I'd always heard that when a diet is started, a person loses the fastest in the first couple of weeks. I'm disappointed but as I said before, I'm in it for the long haul so as long as I'm losing something, I'm good with it.

Does anyone know how to start a new post within our group? It looks like the 'group' part of the site isn't operational yet.

Great job everyone! The good news is that no one GAINED weight and that's definately a move in the right direction.  I know we can all do it with each other's support.  I'm seeing slower weight loss that I have with the diets I've tried in the past (ie. South Beach, Atkins, etc.) which can be discouraging, but I think that this time it is permanent weight loss not just water weight.  I am determined to be skinny before my high school reunion coming up in October!

slenderbutts- Good for you!  5 lbs is AWESOME!  You deserve a big CONGRATs!
