Just starting CC and want a buddy group????
Hi,
My name is Brandi and Im new to CC. When I first weighed myself I weighed 174. Im 5'4 and I want to get to 130. I have an office job, so I sit all day long.... I have started to go for walks during my lunch break and I am paying more attention to what Im eating.
I thought If I can loose 1.5 pounds a week that would be great. Im at 170 and have been there since last week. I dont have a scale at home ( I think thats good) but, I have one at work. I seem to want to weigh myself everyday. Now Im starting to think thats not something I should do.
It would be great to do this with a group. We can share this journey with eachother. I now think in 3 months I will feel better than I have in along time. Im so excited to get there!!! It makes me smile:)
Hey Brandi :) I want to lose about the same amount of weight (45-55 lbs), I'm 5'8". I'd love to be buddies. Weighing yourself everyday is definitely not something we should do (and I'm doing it too
) I'm really trying to go by measurements. Have you taken those and recorded them? Comparing measurements each week will give you a much more accurate vision of how you're doing. My boot camp trainers also measure fat %. Of course we want to see progress on the scale too, but restricting it to a weekly weigh in will help I think.
Anyway let me know if you'd like to support each other :) I'm looking for someone to talk to and keep updated with progress until I get to 150 or back into size 8's. My goal is July 15th, keeping my fingers crossed I can do it!
Anastase nice to meet you! I think the measurements is a great idea!!!! Do you do that when you weigh or more than once a week?
Please correct me if Im wrong but you have already lost 45ibs?? If so thats great. Do you think Im setting myself up thinking I can loose 1.5-2lbs a week? I wanted to be at 140 by June....... Do you have any suggestions?
Hello! I am fairly new, I actually joined about 2 weeks ago and I didn't weight myself until last week where I was at 190! I finally decided I am going to lose the weight and keep it off! I already feel so much better! I am always down for more buddies and having people to be accountable for. Add me if you like.
PS- I think remembering that your body sometimes only wants to lose .5 one week that still a half a lb is a half a lb and it counts, just keep at it.
Thanks!-Aly
Nice to meet you too
My trainers measure me about once every 2 weeks. I think if it was done once a week you wouldn't see much of a difference most likely. I want to stop obsessing over the scale and weigh in once a week. Maybe we could do that here together? :)
Actually, I have gained back 45 lbs. Last year I was at 155, now I'm at 200. I want to lose those lbs again and keep them off this time hehe. I think it's possible to lose that much weight in a shorter time than recommended here..but, it might not be healthy.
The way I am trying to lose weight though is not just watching calories but with heavy workouts to burn up some calories and build muscle. I've read many places that muscle burns fat faster than restricting calories alone. My trainers took my weight and current diet into consideration and gave me a goal of 1500 calories a day. My biggest suggestion would be to exercise whenever you can. Starting off by walking at lunch is awesome, do you have time to do more exercise or do you plan to?
Also, zig-zagging calories can really help to keep your body from getting used to eating exactly the same amount every day. If your goal is say 1800, then do 1400 one day, 1800 the next and 2200 after (that's just a suggestion, break it down as you need if you need to eat more than 1400).
And hi Aly! Good luck and nice to meet you :)
I'm also close to 174..more like 177 and want to loose about 27 lbs. I work in an office all day long, but go to the gym 3 days a week in the morning and try and ride my bike on its bike trainer on the off days (although that hasn't been the case lately!).
I agree weighing yourself everyday isn't the best idea, but I do it to.
Okay ladies, here's a link to a zig-zagging site. www.NaturalPhysiques.com You'll have to look for "tools" or calculatior. Don't know how to post the entire link. Good luck to you all. I'll be popping in here ever so often.
Feel free to PM me if you have questions about zig-zaging calories.
Last night I had won ton soup and an egg roll. ( I also had the chips to go in it)
Does anyone know how bad that is?? I started to feel sick yesterday with a cold and that always makes me feel better. Just need to know what damage I did:)
Aly your right about the .5 a week. I think I weigh myself everyday to see it so I know when it happend so I can do it again. Im trying so hard.
Anastase ok so If you will do it with me I will not weigh every day but do you think we can do it everyother??:) Really what day would be a good day to weigh in?
Wow! You lost 45 last year thats great! You can do it again and keep it off. I will try to do more workouts. I was planning on the 3 days a week but I can do it 5 I think.
Ok can you explain the zig zagging calories? Have or did you do that when you lost your weight?
Hope everyone is having a good day:):)
Happy ST. Patricks day!!!!!!:)
oh and pinch if your not wearing green.
Hi
My name is Cindy and I just started CC on Friday. So far I really like it! I am 37 and have dieted forever or so it seems!
I currently weigh 259 pounds. My heaviest was 280 pounds, which scared the heck out of me! My husband and I are currently trying to have our first child and I need to lose weight, so I am hoping that I can lose the weight.
I use to weigh myself once a week but I just read an article that said you should weigh yourself every morning, so that you can see the effects of your diet. I find it works for me. It helps me to constantly see the changes that are happening to my weight when I am changing my eating habits. How is everyone else doing? I keep losing 2 pounds and gaining them back so I am hoping that weighing myself everyday will help me stop the constant yo yo effect.
Ok so I weighed myself today and it was at 190, when I weighed myself last week it was more like 191, The scale at the gym is not a digital so I think I need to buy a digital one so I can get better results. This is so hard, I thought forsure I would see it lower especially since I weighed in the evening last week and the morning this week. O well just have to push harder :/ any encouraging thoughts?
Cindy welcome!!
aly that is great you lost a pound!!!!!
Ok you guys I had to go weigh myself I just had to.. and I now weigh 169!!!
IM so happy this is making me feel better. I have been feeling sick. Oh this is just great. I know its only a pound but everyday I have wanted to see 169 and I did...
Ok back to work;)
Thanks Brandi, I know a pound is a pound and any achievemnt counts. Good job on 169! I am glad it made you happy, sometimes it is just a little weight loss to make us feel loads better!
Hi Brandi:)
I'd logve to have a diet buddy too and btw the scales are not always accurate i tend to go by inches lost too as i find if teh scales don't move i've still managed to lose inches:)
Nice to meet you Myahussain!!!! I like to see the graph on CC. I wish they had one for inches;0) How much weight are you wanting to loose?
DO any of you know what is the best time of the day to weigh in? I really want to weigh myself again today , who knows maybe I lost another pound? I know wishfull thinking.... You know I was feeling so sick yesterday and pushed myself to do my mile and felt worse and feel so much better today. I really think that helped me get better quicker.
Hope everyone is having a great Monday.
The best time of day to weigh yourself is in the morning after using the bathroom, naked hehe. I honestly weighed the same in the evening as the morning when i last did it though, I just got some advice to maybe stay away from the scale for 2 weeks! I don't know if I can but it seems like it might be worth it to see some good results!
I agree! Morning is the best time! Right before you get dressed. If you weigh yourself in the evening, you may find a 2 pound difference from your morning weight. That is my experience anyway!
Ok well I guess i will have to go buy a scale. I think I will weigh myself every 5 mins:) AM sounds good to me. I actually walked around the scale and did not touch it...
Ok well Im off to go shopping... I have not been in along time. I printed 2 coupons $75.00 off a $100.00!@!! You only have to spend $50.00!!! This is so cool:)
Hi! My name is Kristy and I started CC about 2.5 weeks ago and I've lost around 3lbs, however I am trying really hard to avoid the scale! I was about 185 lbs, and I'm only 5'4" as well, so I definitely would like to lose around 50lbs.
I am a scale addict and have a really hard time staying away from it. It's almost as if it dictates my mood for the day...if I see that I've dropped below my previous number, no matter how small, I'm excited and ready to go for the day. If it goes up at all, I wonder what is the point and have to fight hard to stay motivated. So now, my goal is to take measurements from the advice I saw from this group and I'll see if that helps!
Nice to meet everyone!!
Hello! welcome Kristy, and don't worry about the scale, I would say try to only do it if you really have to, I am thinking of only doing it every 2 weeks, we will see if I can pull it off. Add me and we can chat and what not, glad to have you here! And to everyone else Have a happy thursday, man I wish it was friday!
Hello... Old Navy through me for a loop!:) I went and shopped and really got $75 off of $100. Im still in shock!
I went ahead and got on the scale today and lost another pound! Im so happy. This is so awsome.
Ally its friday!!
haha it is friday, and today I jumped on the scale and I lost a pound as well, I am down to 189 thank god! Everyone have a wonderful weekend, I am going for sushi tonight with my bf to have a nice date night out. I feel like sushi is the healthiest to eat out right? Happy friday everyone!!!
