I have been trying to lose weight for about a year and a half. I lost 20 pounds in summer of 2006, but it was from extreme calories restriction and working out 2 hours a day.

Ever since, I've gone on and off of diets. I tried to go back on an 800 cal diet, but realized it was stupid so I stopped. Then, during this summer, I started to binge A LOT. Like everyday. Now, I'm back up to 140-145 lbs. I don't look like I'm back at that weight because I'm still slimmer than I was a year ago, but I am definitely not happy with my body.

Soooo, I'm deciding, not only to finally start working out and actually sticking to my diet, but to also just change my whole life. I'm getting sick of the same old stuff every single week.

Before I even decided to do this last night, I had bought $650 worth of clothes makeup and shoes, which is something I would never ever do because I hate my body. But I found things that look good. I also realized that shopping makes me more motivated to try on the things I like.

I want to change my diet, my way of thinking, and just everything about my life. I like the girl that I'm starting to become, so I'm not going to change who I actually am, I'm just going to make my life more exciting.

After last night's perilous binge... what you typed is exactly how I feel. I want to actually stick to somethng, stop binging, stop using the excuse "I'll start over tomorrow" and actually do it...

I told myself last night before I went to bed, if I can do it for 30 days I'll be happy. Just 30 days. I'm going to Scotland/London in a month... I want to be able to control myself over there and enjoy myself.

Yay! Ok, I used to binge like every day during the summer and I've found that the best thing to do it tell someone in your house or someone close to you that you have a binge problem and knowing that someone knows, you'll be too embarrassed to continue with the binging. I told my mom and then I promised someone that I met on CC that I wouldn't binge, and I haven't since.
can I join? I want to start all over again after binging for a few weeks. I stopped counting and feel so bad...

Thanks. what is the plan?:) I find the most difficult part for me is the beginning. we can form a group. how about that? i am really hoping to get back to normal and get a mini goal done by Christmas.
I hear that! I was just given a new exercise plan and I'm PUMPED.
I think we should all make a goal weight for January 1st. Mine will be between 8-10 pounds. I need to start working out 4-5 times a week with 30 min cardio and then at home I'll do strength training.

What goals do you guys want to make?
that is cool. From now to January 1st is a good time frame. that is about 5 weeks. I am really hoping to lose the pounds that I have gained recently. about 8 pounds. so 8-10 pounds sounds great.

wannabehot: what is your current weight? I am between 148-150 not sure yet.

I want to lose an inch from my waist, hips, and thighs. I'm concentrating on tightening everything so I know I can do it! Even if I don't, I'm sure it won't all be for naught.
I am 5"5 and 140 pounds. I'm also 14yo.

Those are great goals!

My hardest thing will be to get myself to workout.

Gaiam has really fantastic videos but you should also check out yogatoday.com- it's a website that has a new class everyday and they will send you a weekly schedule if you sign up. It's totally free and really fun!

I'm in!! I just gained like 5 pounds from this holiday weekend :( I am starting my diet today!! My birthday is in 2 1/2 weeks, so i really wanna lose some by then too! My goal is to lose 10 pounds!

Ok, I have a confession to make. I don't know why, but yesterday I pretty much binged, which is really hard for me to say because I hadn't binged in two months. Don't worry, though, I realized I was binging, so I had some healthy porridge and then went right to bed. I won't let this get to me!

   i was browsing this website and i came across this posting and it really encouraged me to sign up...  i was just wondering if its too late for me to join you guys on this.. i would love to lose a certain amount of weight by jan 1st and knowing that other ppl are in the same position as me gives me a lot of hope..
