Just starting this...

Hey! My name is Nicole and I'm just looking for a little motivation to shed these extra pounds.... I love the biggest loser and it has motivated me to get off the couch. I've tried a dozen different diets but never one with counting calories. Any good tips would be very welcomed!

Hey nicole! I just joined too! I have this last 11 pounds to lose and it's so hard! I am certainly no expert here but I have always been a calorie counter. I've been on both sides of the fence with my weight and I think, for me anyway, it boils down to routine. Instead of coming home from work, having a snack and sitting down "to relax" in front of the TV. It's come home, grab a piece of fruit and get on the treadmill (or your exercise of choice) for 30 minutes..They say it takes the average person 21 days to form a habit. So, in theory, if you force yourself to create a healthy routine for 21 days, it will come naturally. I think it gets easier as you start to feel better about yourself anyway!! Good to hear from another new person. Hope that helped a litlle.

Definitely helped hope! It's so funny you brought up the 21 day habit thing b/c I heard that just the other day somewhere and I've been thinking about it a lot. I think if only I can do this for 21 day it's got to get easier! I always want to come hope and relax on the couch after work b/c I think I deserve if for a hard days work, but guess what I HAVE A DESK JOB! I'm realizing how much exercise I don't get!
I know what you mean!! If you need a buddy, let me know. As you know I am new and have 0 people to chat with about this stuff (my skinny friends don't get it).

I love the biggest loser too! I work out during the commercial breaks, just bicept curls and such, but anything is better than nothing. My skinny friends have no clue what it feels like to be the bigger girl in the group. I joined about a week ago and already have lost 10 pounds just by changing my food choices a little and monitoring what and how much I put in my mouth. Now I have to increase the exercising to really make it all roll. If you ever need to unload give me a shout. Of course I want to hear the accomplishments too.

I only just started the program too but I've lost 7 pounds already and I'm looking forward to losing more.  I've always tried to diet the last couple of years, but to no avail.  I don't have time for meetings HONEST and I never understood how talking with other people about strategy, diet, and wanting to cheat and nibble could help, but it does. I think it's great.  I also have a friend that works with me who wants to lose forty pounds and has helped make it a friendly competition, but I love the idea of having all kinds of people "around."  It makes me feel like I'm not alone in the struggle lol  Good luck! Hope to hear from someone.
