Starting an '200+' Group

Quote  |  Reply
Yeah, like the post says I'm starting an over 200 lbs group.

You can list your starting weight, current weight, and goal weight if you like.

But this forum is not going to be a formal challenge, just a place for those 200+ to come together and support each other; give tips, rant about issues, etc. So I guess I"ll be the first to post.

Hi, my name is Nycolea, as you may see.

Starting: 226.2

Current: 228.2

Goal: 145 lbs my May 9, 2010

I've done this before. In 2006 I lost 40 lbs, but I have since gained it back and then some.  I'm very frustrated with myself right now, but I am trying to turn that frustration into positive action.

Who's next?

Hi Nycolea,

I like the sound of this group. I've been on here techincally for a couple of months but my attendance slacked a bit for the last two months...

Started at 230-ish

Current weight is 212

Goal is 135 lbs. - No specific date right now, just taking it as it comes.

BTW - your goal... do you mean 2009? Curious.

My problem to date, is that I get bored of trying to lose weight. The real reason I got fat: I never went anywhere in highschool, ate like a pig, and smoked a ton of weed, which made me think I had the munchies.

I've since graduated college, started walking (trying to stay motivated to walk), eating less, drinking more water etc. I'm pretty excited that I just went down a pant size! woot woot.

Started: 280

Current: 256

Goal: 155-160 by May 30, 2009 (or to be under 32 per cent body fat)

Hey, i am in this group,

Starting weight: 252

Current weight: 248

Goal weight: 180 (no set time) I would just be happy to be under 200 eventually!!

Clarice

Count me in too!

Starting weight: 238

Current weight: 236

Goal weight: 160

My body doesn't seem to want to drop below 235lbs. I always stall there. I'm trying to break the cycle and like m_c, I get bored very quickly as well usually around two weeks at a time or that time of the month.

Hi, I'm just barely in this group now... but at the (slow) rate I'm losing weight I still fit in.

Start weight - 265

Current weight - 209

Goal weight - 180 (hopefully by November if I stay on target, which would mean 85lbs in a year.)

And for stats purposes, I'm female, 37, and 5'6" tall.

I'd like to join!  I've been trying to lose for a very long time.  I'm having a problem balancing 40 hr/work week with school 4 nights a week and wanting to see my husband for at least a few minutes each day.  I always have the best intentions but never get it really going.

My height is 5'5", maybe 5'4".

Start weight- 222.5

First goal weight- 180

Ultimate goal weight- 135
Oh I'm all about this!  I JUST make it but I think it's def something I wanna be apart of cuz that above 200 range is scary! :(

I'm 26 5'3

CW: 208-210 (i fluctuate day to day i don't know why)

GW: 140 by Febuary/March 2009

I'm averaging about 1500-1800 calories a day (though yesterday I went a little over at about 2000...)

That's 70 lbs in 8-9 months.  I'm planning on getting pregnant next summer or fall and i'd love to get to my goal weight and maintain it for 5-10 months before getting pregnant.  Then I figure I'll have the healthy eating thing down and should hopefully not gain too much during and even so I'd be happy at 150-160 If i have trouble loosing the excess baby weight, ya know?

My husband got me a treadmill and I've just recently started working out 30 mins on that. I want to get up to 60 mins/day eventually though.

I find that I'm really super hungry still tho w/ 1500-1700 cals... anyone else have that problem?

Hello!!

CW: 218

GW: 180's by end of year

I'm supposed to eat 1850 but rarely come in over 1800. Usually between 1700 and 1800. My weakness is eating out. I can't stand cooking. Can someone making cooking and cleaning up after fun for me?

I go to Curves for weight training.

GW 170 sometime in 2009

I'd love to join!  I've been overweight for a few years now and would love to get back to that size 12.  I was just full of confidence then.  Also, my wedding is coming up in October and I know it's vain...but I just don't want those pictures to be of me in my current state.  lol

SW: 227

CW: 221.2

GW: 170

My goal might change depending on how things go...but heck, I just want to break that 200 mark in 2-3 months!  The rest can come off slower, so no real goal date.  Just to be a healthier more energetic me!

I would love to jone this group!!!

SW:  260

CW:  254

GW:  180

Its my first week here and I really like this site.  I'm 28, gunna be 29 in a little over a week, female and I live in Hawaii.  I would love to be the size I was before I had kids.  And I would be very happy.  Its funny back in high school I thought I was so fat and now I would give anything to be that size again.  Hahaha!!!

I'm in there with you all.  I'm 55, SW 284 on Feb 1, 08, CW 232, GW 170, hope to reach 200 by end of year.

I'm really happy with CC.  Once I had been eating really clean for a a few weeks, it became easy.

I had been a couch potato, so I started a modest exercise regiment: walking half an hour and bicycling half an hour.  THEN I had a bike accident and sprained my foot, which immobilized me in bed for a week.  It's been 6 weeks since the accident and I'm still limping and not pain free.  But I have gotten back on the bike again and am doing 20 minutes on the bicycle and 60 minutes swimming laps every day.

I live in Florida and for the next 4 months the pool temperature will be above 80 degrees (up to 93 degrees during the hottest time), so I can look forward to swimming my laps.

Hubby and I are going on a cruise in Europe to Norway and Scotland in 6 weeks.  Right now I have 2 things concerning me:  hoping my foot is completely recovered in time so that I can do all the walking I know I'll be wanting to do in the various ports of call ... especially Edinburgh ... and hoping that I'll be able to enjoy the cruise and the associated foods WITHOUT losing control. Gaining a few pounds during the cruise is okay, but I don't want to gain 10 lbs. in a 2 week vacation.

I am hoping I won't hit a plateau before the trip and hope my weight drops to 225 before we leave.

One thing is for certain: the plane trip (seats) will be a heck of a lot more comfortable at my current weight of 232 than at 284 lbs! And it's a l-o-o-o-n-g flight to Europe!

I'mm really happy to have found CC.  So many nice people.  Support when you need it.  Tons of great info available and I love using the tools.  Makes sticking with the lifestyle much easier!

I'm in. I've been obese since  I was a kid and after years of loosing and gaining the same 30 lbs I'm finally totally comttited to getting healthy and looking FABULOUS! So far the loss has been steady but a little slow. It took me 3 months to loose 20 lbs, so I'm trying some new things. Modifying calories and incorporating weight training, hopefully this will boost the results. Either way I'm in this and this weight is coming OFF.

Here are my stats-

Count me in, too. I only got obese from the age of 30 on, although always had food issues (mostly denying myself food to stay slim). But working as a journalist on the late shift, and ordering Wendy's and/or fried rice every day, led me to go from about 185 1lbs to 270+ (I was too big to fit on the scale which only went up to 264).

SW 270 (or more) January

CW 220

Would like to get down to 190 1lbs.

Thanks for doing this forum.

My weight is holding steady at 208.8... I burnt a TON of calories yesterday doing spring-cleaning in the kitchen and swimming, but then I ate them all back bar my usual deficit, and I had so much sodium that the scale hasn't budged an ounce. Oh well... I'm just glad it's not going UP! I'm still at my lowest weight, and it'll move again when it's ready. TOTM showed up last night, so I'm hoping that the scale will drop accordingly soon.

Today's discussion topic: Many of us on calorie-count have tried this weight loss thing before... but why do you think your weight loss efforts did not work on the very first try?

Well,  I don't think my efforts worked the first time because I just gave up around the holidays. On August 29, 2006 I walked home for the first time in LOOOOONG time, and I started getting really mad at myself. I was sick of always crying about being fat and never doing anything about it. So I went home started planning my meals, looked on the internet for nutrition information of different foods (that's how I found calorie-count) and I was well on my way to starting a new life.

I would walk home from school everyday, walk in the park everyday, eat right, etc. I lost 30 lbs in three months. My mom absolutely could not believe it. Neither could I.  I also hadn't eaten out at anytime between those three months. Everything just seemed so easy, I couldn't understand how I never did this before.  Then the holidays came. I told myself after Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years were done, I would get back to exercising and eating right. That NEVER happened. So I've been struggling with getting back on track since January 2007.

I'm hoping that as I go off to college next week this weight loss thing will become a little more manageable given that I will be 200 miles away from my eating buddies (MY FAMILY IN GENERAL). I know there's going to be alot of temptation in the dining halls, but I feel like I wll be able to make smart decisions. Hopefully I will be able to find an exercising buddy there... I am SOOOOO self conscious, it makes exercising in public a no-no for me.
Wow, kajikit, I should start spring cleaning too!

Today's discussion topic: Many of us on calorie-count have tried this weight loss thing before... but why do you think your weight loss efforts did not work on the very first try?

Simple answer: I stopped trying. Got stressed out because of high school calculus finals etc, mom was cooking dinner (and we lived in the south). She had a tendency to give me too much on my plate because she was overcompensating for the very little she received on her plate as a kid.

Now that I live with my boyfriend (a few years later) its easier to buy and cook stuff for myself that's healthy. I am also far more knowledgeable about weight loss than I was before, thanks to just how much more vast the internet is now than it was 3 years ago.
