Starting Maintaining, and bad binge?
I have recently hit my weight goal, 6'2" 175lbs... whoot? right? yea well I still have a fat roll, and worse yet the last 3 days i've been binging... round 3k cal. I have my set calories at 2200, and because of finals and the cold weather i havne't been able to do excercise like i was before. But for some reason i'm MORE hungry now that i was then, i feel like i'm putting fat back on..... help!
2200 almost certainly isn't enough food for you.... 2500-2700 is more appropriate for someone your size trying to maintain their weight. If you undereat, you'll feel hungry. If you carry on undereating and ignoring the hunger you'll end up overeating. QED ![]()
If you have a 'fat roll', watch the types of foods you're choosing. Fluid retention can often show up as flabbiness on an otherwise slim body. Foods to cut back on... anything with salt, caffeine, sugar, alcohol, artificial sweetners and most heavily processed foods and refined starches. If you choose more wholefoods, cook at home more and drink more water you can change your shape and also feel more satisfied with what you eat. In cold weather... might be stating the obvious... but have more hot foods and hot drinks. Keep active (even in cold weather) by wrapping up and taking brisk walks. You don't have to go to a gym to be active.
But do aim for 2500-2700.... regular meals/snacks, wholesome, nourishing food choices. Good luck
What are you eating? Clean/balanced eating is key. Whole, unprocessed foods when possible. Complex carbs, whole grains, low-fat dairy, fresh fruits and veggies, lean meats and proteins. Cut out things with artificial sweeteners, processed foods, pop. Don't drink your calories, drink plenty of water. HIIT training is great for fat loss, do you lift/strength train? If not do that 3 days a week. Cardio 4-6 days a week. One complete day off a week. You can eat more calories if the food choices are right.
Few ways to help speed up your metabolism
weight train 3 days a week. Not consecutive.
HIIT (sprinting) 2-4 days a week.
Drink plenty of water,
Spicy foods are good. Cayenne pepper, jalapeños, habanaro all good for you.
Eat right and if you need to split your calories into smaller more frequent meals.
Green tea. Very good for you.
Keep moving even when not "working out" Park in a space far away from the door when shopping.
Walk where ever you can.
Take the stairs.
Take the long way to wherever you are going.
Keep busy at home, cleaning, laundry and so on.
Count out your servings of foods especially when snacking. Don't just sit down with a bag of cookies, chips, crackers. Count out a serving and put the rest away.
Will power is number one!!
