just starting...need motivation...also in the military
i just got weighed in before an army physical fitness test and the numbers were not good at all..very upseting because part of being a good soldier is to being up to standard...i always wanted to be soldier and now that im doing it i dont want to fail at it...but losing weight is so hard...
I also need encouragement. I do good for about 2 weeks and then I just forget about it all together. Then 4 months later I start worrying about it again. I beat myself up at night while trying to fall asleep and always plan on doing better tomorrow.
My son is in the military. He left here 6ft 3in tall, 240lbs and he came home from Iraq on leave this week at 185lbs. I am 5ft 5in and weigh 185lbs. I am ashamed. I told him if he stayed home long enough I would fatten him up again and he says "Why do you want me to be fat?"
Losing weight is very hard. Maintaining my concentration is very hard. Deciding what to eat, shopping, planning, making lunches.
I have to get a grip on what I eat.
Hey mezcla,
I am also in the military. I understand what you mean about being up to standard. It is hard. I have been watching my weight for 15 years. Because we do a lot of activity in the army (even at a desk job), the key is food. Take a look at how the "skinny" girls eat. They eat small portions. They eat things like trail mix for a snack. They also eat soups and salads instead of heavy meals. I use to laugh at those girls. Now I realize that they maintain their weight while I am constantly dieting.
It took me a while to realize that. Keep at it. You will be fine when you decide to change your lifestyle.
