Starting over again....

I am back and will commit until the end this time.

Last I was here I lost 32 pounds, well since about Sept of last year I have gained 15 of those pounds. YIKES! My own fault for letting go. But I am so unhappy with my weight gain and need to get back on the horse. Any advise for not over snacking and motivation tips for working out??? My goal is to loose 25 pounds by Aug 28th. That is the week we go to Disney World.

Please help me with any motivation, I sure need it! : )

You made the first step by coming back. It's like riding a bike. Remember it will be tough at first. You need to retrain you mind. Always have healthy treats with you.

Welcome back!!  I think of it more as "continuing where I left off" . . .

I am the snack queen (after much practice).  I schedule a snack for every 2-3 hours (2-4 a day), I pre-portion what I am going to have in sandwich baggies that are carefully portioned/weighed, and I include protein with every snack.

My motivations for working out: 1) I tell myself it is "me" time - time to focus on myself and not do anything for anybody else.  2) I set mini-goals for myself and I feel a sense of accomplishment when I complete them.  3) I focus on how good I feel after I work out, how much better I sleep, how much more relaxing an hour of TV is ect.

Thank you!!!!
Good tips "tmck99"  you are right, it will be "me" time for workouts. Proportion baggies, I like that....hmm...Thank you again, I am  happy to be back! : )

It may sound silly, but one thing I did was to have a recumbent bike in my living room and I usually watch a movie on Sat and Sun while exercising. This way I don't need to go to the gym and get to spend time with the kids while working out.

nuvia: what are  your stats? I lost a lot of weight last year but gained about 20 back:( I really want to lose them.

I just wanted to say that I'm with you. I gained back around 10 pounds of the weight I lost. Best thing I've done the past couple days in regards to getting back on track is being proud of myself for moving toward my goal again. One thing I found helpful is marking on a calendar days you promise yourself you'll go to the gym or exercise in general. It kinda click consciously and then its more visable when you miss out (which I find out pushes me harder to go). Good luck! :)

"Me" Time!  THAT'S IT!!!  Thank you!!

About 4 years ago I lost 30 lbs.  I put 15 of those back on just due to stupidity and laziness--I KNOW how to eat properly, exercise, etc.  So I jumped on this bandwagon this past weekend and as effort towards (yet again) committing to a healthier life.

One of my biggest complaints of late, in general, is have to do for everyone else but myself.  I know that sounds selfish, but honestly everything I do each day revolves around other people.  And after a while this cycle spins into a form of depression.  When am I going to do something for "me?"

And the answer is simple: eating better is for ME!  Exercise/workout time is "ME TIME!"  No one else to focus on; no email to deal with; leave the cordless phone upstairs away from the treadmill --or-- leave the cell phone home when going for a walk/jog.  Certainly don't take it into the gym with you.  This is my "ME TIME!"

So thank you---that hour and change each day is now mine, all mine and no one else's.
