Starting over - again..

Hi everyone - I'm 36yr happily married to my best friend and trying to lose/maintain my weight once again.  I am convinced, that this battle of the bulge will be a lifetime frustration.

We had 3 babies in three years and I topped the scales at 190lbs 6 months after the last one was born - June of 2006.  My husband had just left for a 6 month deployment in Iraq and I decided I was going to turn this weight issue around.  By the time he returned in December 2006, I had lost 25lbs and feeling good at 165lbs. Once he returned, my excercise routine went out the window!!!...  Over the next 1 1/2 yrs, I lost another 5lbs.  He deployed for his second 6 mo. tour in Iraq, July of 2008 and I was going to do it again - lose ANOTHER 25lbs!!..  so I started at 160... and by the time in returned in Feb of this year (2009) - I had reached 135lbs!!  YEAH..

Since then, we've gone on a week vacation to Jaimaca (all you can eat buffet and sleeping in the sun did havoc on my weight - gained 4 lbs in a week!!)..  Miscellanous trips to see family... inconsistent excercise routines,.. eating unhealthy,.. you name it!... *sigh* and now we're back up to 145lbs.  Feeling pretty frustrated and a bit depressed.. I've recommitted myself to get back to the basics.

I want to start taking responsiblity and being aware of what's going in my mouth,.. Start working out because that is how I GET my energy back...   I've chosen this forum to help me stay motivated and continue down my journey to a healthy life.

I know that was a bit lengthy.  I'm excited to meet new friends and help other's to reach their goals....

Hi - well here is your motivation.  I joined this site at the end of July 09.  If you did it once then you can do it again.  If you can't find any motivation to do anything try walking.  Walk walk & walk some more.  Take your children out for a walk - it will do them some good and wear them out as well.

Good Luck to you!!!!!

Thanks sree321!

I find sharing my journey with others and learning how they have ovecome obstacles to be a real motivator.  We just got a 6mo. puppy last week and have been taking him for walks 2-3 times a day so yes - walking is awesome - for me and for the kids.

I know I can do it...  if I don't get to impatient. *LOL* I always want to see results immediately and it's hard sometimes to stick with it to see the results later...  But as my momma always said, "Anything worth having don't come easy."... So we just keep on keeping on!.. How are you doing so far since you signed up last month?

I'm doing great - thanks for asking.  Yes, I too want to see results almost immediately, but I know that is not realistic.  I have been walking with my daughter in the evenings and it has already made a huge impact.  I like the fact that I can know exactly how many calories I am taking in with this site.  I always made an estimate before, but I realize now I was taking in more calories than I thought.  I agree with what your mom says.  So I am making it worth it LOL

Have a great day!
