"Starting Over" Weigh-In [Contest closed, but conversation welcome!!]

Quote  |  Reply

I saw someone else's post on starting over, which I'm going through as well. So, how about a weigh-in thread for all of us getting back on the band wagon?! I know I could use the support, encouragement and accountability!! How about weighing in on Fridays for about 6 weeks?? I'll use everyone's current weight to start with and then we'll do our first weigh in next Friday, August 22 and we'll go by percentages since our weights are all so different. You can sign-up and I'll keep track of everyone's progress. The winner will get a lovely "virtual" pat on the back!

I'm a 30-year-old woman trying to limit my calories to 1700 per day and walk 2 miles at least 3 days a week, throwing some 5lb weights in there as well. It's tough!

Edited to add: The contest sign-up is over as of my last post #53

"Okay... I'm going to say no more contest participants after this post. But any and all are welcome to participate in the conversation and encouragement throughout the thread! Good luck ladies... and gentleman!"

I'm in a post-vacaction 'waiting period' to see what damage I might have done with 10 days of no cc, so I guess I kind of qualify! I got home showing a 3 lb gain which, 2 days later, has become a total of a 5 lb gain; yikes!! BUT I've jumped right back in with exercise and healthy, measured eating and I feel fine and strong, But I may just need some moral support if I don't see a downward shift soon. . .

Can I join in as well?  I am a 37 year old woman.  5 years ago I lost 45lbs doing Atkins.  I managed to keep it off for about a year and a half, then proceeded to put it all back on plus an extra 10 lbs.

Hi everyone, my name is Amber! This sounds like something I need to participate in! I wake up everyday saying "today is day one" and it never begins! This might help me feel more accountable. Thanks for a great idea. Kiss

My plans for exercise is walking on my treadmill or at the track. I also clean houses for a living so it also helps boost my "fitness level". I would love to get an eliptical!

OK... I'll bite.

Stats:

28 y.o., male (if you can't tell), PA.

started Sept. 2006

SW: 280 lbs

CW: 225.6 lbs (I hate rounding :)

GW: 180 lbs

started over on my scale's weight tracking today, set it up as a new record and all. Gonna try to get back on the wagon and not have so many 'cheat days' where I binge and forget all about the future goal (but at least I log them... so I don't get a skewed analysis number at the end of the month!)...

Had a big dinner last night at a restaurant... something like 1300 cals in a meal, so yesterday was a 'maintenance day'. I'm talking 'cheat days' like 5000 calories sometimes (sigh). I wish my stepmother would stop being nice by buying the family 'treats' like cookies or ice cream, or at least buying small containers so we eat them all at one sitting and there's not that big already open container sitting in the freezer calling my name... oh, Moose Tracks, you knocked me off the wagon but good last Sunday.

Anyway, gonna try to keep doing this the 'right' way, with a reasonable deficit of 750-1000 per day, aerobics or biking every day, and weightlifting every 2 days... I'll keep you all posted on Friday.

peace

i am going to track calories and try to stay active. no exercise yet, still recovering from c-section and busy with three children plus my newborn.

I'm so glad so many have joined... Good luck to everyone! I'll use everyone's current weight to start with and then we'll do our first weigh in next Friday, August 22 and we'll go by percentages since our weights are all so different.

Okay-I'm in.  I started cc in March and lost 16 pounds, then I went camping for 10 days.  After I got back I got sick and had a very stressful July.  Now we just got back from a 13 day vacation.  I have not yet got on the scale-I am afraid!!!! I started counting again 3 days ago.  I have not yet got back to working out.  I am a loser!!!!! I just can't seem to get on the treadmill or start my weights again.  Maybe this will motivate me.  My last weight log was in June.  I am 5'6" and I started at 199 went down to 183.  Goal is about 140.  I will have to get my current weight in the morning after I work out (LOL)

My husband and I have been trying really hard to lose weight, but had a bad July with the holiday and birthdays.  I'm getting back to being serious because we're going on a late honeymoon in November (married January 5th!) to Hawaii, so I want to be comfortable in a bathing suit.  I try to stick between 1200-1300 calories/day and work-out 4-5 times/week.  I'm so excited about this!

I lost over 30 pounds after I had thyroid cancer and now I'm right back where I  was 3 years ago!!

5'6"  45years old   Do kick boxing at least once a week, sometimes twice.  Do weights once a week with cardio in the mix.  I would like to lose this by my 25th wedding anniversary in June.  Hope I WIN the pat on the back! Wink

Hi Everyone,

I would love to join you too please!  I really need some emotional support.  Since October last year I was able to lose 30 pounds by diet and exercise.  Attained my goal weight of 120 and then almost 2 months ago I got overly confident and slipped back into old patterns and stopped going to the gym.  I am struggling with tons of binging (never purged though) and finding motivation to work out.

I did great all day today and then just now went out for a walk to get some air and stretch my legs (I work in an office).  Then suddenly I got a crazy idea to get a mocha lite frappuccino which is OK because it is only 125 cals but then I proceeded to go next door ad buy a maple donut and ate it all before I got back to the office, then when I got back I ate some candy too.  I am trying to tell myself that I haven't completely blown it today and I can still keep somewhat on track.  I have a pattern of doing well for most of the day, then at the end of the day eating something bad and thinking that today is a total write-off so I continue to eat and eat and eat until I force myself to go to bed completely stuffed.

:)

Count me in. After being disappointed by the WW leader's reaction to my 0.5lbs weight gain ("You are doing it WRONG!") i decided to ditch them and get myself weighed by the nurse at my local Doctor's surgery. Every friday afternoon. I will get decent support and advice, instead of money-driven sales pitches.

I started last year May 25th and weighed 355lbs. I lost about 40lbs by August, but found out i was pregnant. I ditched the diet and just ate what i liked. Had a lovely healthy baby girl in April, and rejoined WW on May 20th. My starting weight then was the same as the weight I ended with when i got pregnant!

Since then i have lost another 30lbs. All through counting calories and making the right choices.

So, my stats:

SW: 355

CW: 282

GW: 170

Female, 36 years, 5'7

This sounds great. I lost a lot of weight last year but I've gained back a small portion. I still have to lose that now plus the rest of the weight I'd like to lose. I'm at 185 now but at one point I got down to 175 (from 234). I really want to get down to around 140.

My stats:

SW: 234

CW: 185

GW: 145

Height: 5. 4"

Age: 39

Kelli

I've lost 200 lbs twice in my life time, only to regain more and more.  This time, I'm finding myself, "starting over" every monday morning after I've eaten out on the weekend.  I've really worked at eating the right foods but still, it's nearly impossible to eat right and eat out.  Guess my birthday cake on Sunday didn't help either.

The miricle is that, I'm willing to "start over".  I couldn't do it without all of you.

Thanks
