Starting power 90 next monday

Quote  |  Reply

I'm starting power 90 on 6/29/2009. I took the fit test for the P90x program and did not pass. Just wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat as me. I am getting close to 300 lbs. and i never want to reach that mark.

Why wait till monday? start today.

I ordered power 90 today and will start soon after it comes in.

I just ordered it so i will be getting it ether saturday or monday. So thats the reason for starting monday.

I ordered Power90 on Friday and it can't get here soon enough.  I've heard so many great things about this program, I am going to do everything I can to follow the program 100% (well, maybe not all the suppliments it wants).

Good luck to you and keep us posted.

I will keep everything post. I will also finish my profile on here, with all my states and pics, this weekend. I wish you the best of luck. And on the suppliment side, it is my belief that a good diet and a good multivitamin is really all you need. Maybe i will be proven wrong in the coming weeks. We will see. Also a good workout shake can help you during and after a workout. I do recommend no-explode. All my freakishly athletic friends take it and swear by it.

I got my shipping acknowledgement for Power 90 today.  It should be here bye the 1st, so I will start on Monday the 6th since family from out of town will be gone by then.  Maybe we all should start a group or something?

Good for you all!  My husband and I just completed week 1 on P90X and it is a challenge.  I really like it, especially working out with him.  Finally, I have found a program that isn't too girly for him.

If you guys are on the Beachbody board, look me up at aka: goalbreaker.

Take care and don't forget to "Bring it!"

Yay! That is great that you orderd Power90. All of Beachbody's workouts are fantastic and as long as you do them, you will se results! I have been doing P90X for over a month now and the results are fanastic, I believe that you all will see the same results with Power90! So congrats on making the decision. Now all you have to do is put it in and push play every day!

Congrats on making the big decision for change!

I've  heard good things about power90, all from CC forums.  I didn't know anything about them before joining Calorie Count.  They appear to be a very popular choice.

Get your nutrition in order and give 100% of your effort on the workouts and I'm pretty certain you will see results!

I ordered Power 90 and was orginally going to start this Monday, but I did not happen.  I will definately begin on 7/13.  Can you tell me how it is going for you?  What are the workouts like etc.?

Thanks

I have been wrestling w/ ordering this.  What equipment do I need though?  I don't have many free weights at home.  I belong to a gym; but I would be soley buying this program to educate me on how to actually USE them; and I only have time to do cardio at the gym during the day.  Do you need a chin-up bar?  That's what I have heard.

What is the fitness test like?

No chin up bar needed for power 90, that is P90X you r thinking of.  My power 90 came with a resistance band.  I don't think you need much more than that.

My order was messed up! So i had to reorder and wait another week. I have it know and i will be starting it on monday.

dritz67,

Do not be discouraged! I hope you didn't give up on the idea of starting a workout program. I think you can definitely start something such as the Slim in 6 from BeachBody. It allows for the beginner level and helps you gradually build up to a program such as p90x.

I started Power 90 July 1, 2009 after having it for over a year. I must have watched it several times.

I'm 53, 6'2" and 234lbs when I started. As of this morning I'm down to 224 and I'm almost to the 90 day mark.

I pretty much do the program 7 days a week. There are those times where I miss a day.  Nevertheless, I try to do it daily.

Prior to this program I didnt do any exercise. It was hard at first and for a few days I was sore. For years I had lower back and middle back aches and stiffness. A bit more than a week into the program my lowerback aches and pain went away. About 3 weeks into it my middle back aches went away. Something to be said about exercise eh.

I too received the bands  with my order. I didnt care for them so I used a pair of 5lb weights I've had for years. I'm up to using 15lbs now. I bought the 25lb adjustable weight at Walmart for $57 each once I new I was going to keep doing the program. They are made by Golds gym.

I cant attribute all the weight loss to the workout, but it is a huge factor. When I started I had to modify my diet. Less crap and more veggies and fruit. Easy on the meats.  I try to use the Michi food guide and stay in the first three tiers. And WATCH THE PORTIONS!!!

It's not that easy and I find myself in tier 5 at times. I believe diet will help my  weight loss proceed further. Dont starve yourself, just eat less junk and maintain moderation.

I found that when I started the program I couldnt keep up. I'm in Level 3-4 now and still pause the DVD at times. Nevertheless, for the first couple of weeks It was about learning the moves. Dont overdo it otherwise it may turn you off to the program. That's the problem I had in the past with exercise. Gotta get big gains right away. Must be a guy thing.

My fitness goal is to be fit enough to try P90X and get down below 210lbs. I was going to do P90X first but didnt pass the fitness test. Good thing, I would have hurt something trying to keep up.

With the weight loss I've seen I've found my pants fitting better, I feel more confidient, and better about myself and have more energy. Although I do still have a few aches and pains sometimes but then again I'm 53.

Prior to this I was seeing the Dr. about various ailments. I was having health issues. Since then my Blood pressure is  down as is my cholesterol. You young ones dont care much about that now but it creeps up on you over the years as does the extra pounds.

I have a 8 year old daughter and I want to be here for a long time to see her grow up. That was the major motivator for starting and sticking with the program.

All I can say is start with a exercise program, be it Power 90 or any other one, watch what you eat and keep a positive attitude about exercise and your health.

I like the power90 program. It's helped me become stronger and healthier than I have been in quite a few years.

Stick with it and good luck.
