Starting P90X - New Group: Get Crazy With Me!
BRING IT!!!
Just ordered today...waiting for it to come...yay. Scared about this...really am...I've lost some weight, but I'm still a heavy heavy girl. My hubby wants to do it with me...I'll believe it when I see it. He's only 26 lbs overweight, whereas I need to lose 117-135 lbs depending on where I want my goal weight to be...figure I'll get to the top of the scale and decide if I want it down a little more when I get there. Hubby is worried that my "ideal" weight (132 lbs) is gonna be too skinny...lol. Told him it could be worse...could try for the low end of the scale of 110...lol. We'll see how I feel if I hit 150...lol.
So I'm sure it's gonna be hard has heck for me at first...but...so was the eliptical when I did it for the first 5 and now I'm at 20 minutes...so...lol. He can still only do 2 minutes...hehehehe.
Anyway...I digress...
Cindy
I started on 3/30. It's definatley kicking my butt. There is 4 of us doing it at my house, my friend and her husband and my boyfriend and I. We all meet at my house at 5:30 am and have coffee. We start at 6 am, workout and then have breakfast together before we all head our seperate ways. It's really nice because we are all helping to motivate each other. On tuesdays we buy all the food we need for the following week and on thursdays we portion out and prepare all the food. It's quite the team effort, its awesome!!![]()
That is so awesome to have the support system! LOL My hubby wants to do it with me...I'll believe it when I see it...lol. He is the worlds LARGEST procrastinator, and blowhard when it comes to stuff like this...he's like I'll work out with ya...you do 20 on the bike I'll do 20 on the eliptical and then we'll switch...(First of all, I laffed my butt off, because elipticals aren't as easy as they seem...lol) And he got to barely two minutes panting and going how long is that? Said barely 2 minutes...and he gets off and says **** that! LOL So yeah...that was the end of him exercising wit me...lol He did do 20 on the bike afterwards tho...and that was the last time he did that. He's only 26 lbs overweight...I'm like in the 100's...lol And I can WHOOP his BUTT! I do 20 mins on the eliptical now. But as my legs and butt disappear, nothing else is toning up obviously...so...figured this would be a very good all around thing.
And I can so see him petering out on this too...lol
But who cares...doing it for me and seeing how far it can transform me in 90 days, and if I have to, I will just do it for another 90 and another 90 until I am where I want to be...lol. I'm excited yet scared cuz I know it's gonna kick my hiney!
I just started a P90X exercise group on this site...no idea if it will take off...surprised nobody has made one before now...but...it's there if your interested in joining :) Has to start somewhere...lol
I am in my 3rd week, lost 10lbs and an inch around my stomach.
Am looking forward to getting a BeachBody. ![]()
My husband and I just started it on Monday. We are doing P90X Lean. Not that there is that much difference. We are neither young nor at healthy weight so it is tough for us, but we do what we can. This is the first exercise video I have been able to get hubby to do. We are taking this week as a practice week, sort of getting a feel for what we are supposed to do and some clue of how to do it. I am looking forward to a time when I can actually do all the exercises instead of staring at the screen saying "You want me to do what? Are you nuts!".
Wildchild, I have seen two other P90X groups on this site, but the people in them have mostly been at it a while. I would be happy to join yours.
My weight is within my normal range for 5'1", I am 120-121 lbs but with 4 pregnancies, my gut is sooooo flabby. I really want to be tone and build my strength.
Anyways, hello. I have been doing p90x lean for 13 days now. I have not been seeing results with my weight and size so far but my stamina and ability to do the reps have improved. I am not gonna quit, i have been reading blogs and watching people in youtube with seeing the results in 60 day.
It's really hard core, you can feel your muscles being worked-out after each sessions.
I am tracking my food in fitday.com which I found useful with the nutrition plan for the 3 phases. It enables you to customized it, though most of the time I have to create a custom food because most of the food I eat are not on the list.
Good Luck to all of us! And keep the support coming.
i just finished fase 1.it was hard !!!but totally worth it!i want in...wildchild1973,i am too going to do it 3 rounds,i have a lot of lbs to lose,so maybe by next summer i have a beachbody
.we will see.good luck everybody.
I hope my P90x box will be here by monday...i also would like to be apart of this!!!!
This is awesome! I'm so glad there are so many people who are either about to start it have been doing it for just a little while. Me and my sister are starting tomorrow morning bright and early. We've arranged our kitchens, bought the equipment and are so totally excited!
I did the fitness test last night - yikes. I passed but I didn't love those jumping jacks. Cardio-wise I'm more out of shape than I thought. And today I have to admit I'm a tad sore! These workouts are going to kick my butt I'm afraid. But I'm also excited to start DOING something about the mess I've created with my body, lol.
Anyway, excited you're all here! Keep us all posted on your progress!
BTW, since we're all coming clean about where we're starting, I'm 5'1 and just had my 2nd kid. I'm pushing 170 and should be down around 115. My body measurements are embarrassing, lol! I don't care if I lose a single ounce as long as I lose those inches!
that-one-amy let us know how your first day go. Im also 5ft 1, 140lbs and i so understand about the measurements...i want to thin/tone my thighs and tone the tummy but keep my boobs..lol.
K - so I'm about done with my third day on this. The first day, chest & back was hard. So many pull-ups and push-ups along with the ab DVD too. It was crazy. Yesterday Plyometrics was super hard and I'm way sore today. Today was arms and back and it was better - maybe I was just more able to do the exercises. Another stint with the Ab DVD too which was markedly better.
The food is out of control. I feel like all I do is eat but I'm really not eating that many calories. Calories go a lot further when they're healthy calories. I've lost a pound already though.
I'm in it though. I'm not giving up. I'm encouraged and I think it's really going to be great. Who else is starting soon?
My husband and I "officially" started on Monday too. We had previewed it last week, but we weren't working at really hard, just trying to get an idea of what we were getting into. I have been sore and tired non-stop since starting.
The Abs DVD is a real killer. We had to quit about 2/3 of the way through. We just couldn't move any more.
Food has been an interesting experience for me too. I am SO hungry now. I originally had planned to eat less than P90X recommended, but I realize that was a mistake now. Keeping protein at 50% of my calories remains a challenge, but I keep trying. I lost 2 pounds last week when I was following the diet carefully, gained it back over the weekend. Weight has not budged so far this week.
way to go ladies ..keep it up you are doing a wonderful job![]()
clharr - way to go! i know you can do it! if i can do it than anyone can! course the yoga video today absolutely kicked my tail! i have a bad back, not so great wrists and my hips are all wacked from just having a baby. needless to say i didn't finish the video. but that was the first time i didn't finish one. hope i can finish it next week!
good luck with the food! that is a tough part but i know it's going to be a huge part of the success. keep it up!
droppinlbs: did your DVD's come yet? did you start? i'm anxious to see what you think of it too!
How's everyone else doing? Any progress seen yet?
Mine came but i am out of town so i wont be able to start right way...but i am working out using taebo amped..hoping that will help prepare for P90x when i return home.
Im so excited that its home waiting on me.lol
Great! Well keep us posted to when you start!
I started March 1 ... and I hurt my back on day 2 doing plyo - lol! I was able to keep active and do a lot of the exercises anyways except for the abs workouts for the first 2 weeks. I love it. I'm also training for a triathlon so I'm doing a lot of extra cardio workouts and it's majorly time consuming - but I love it!
The thing I love about how the videos are done is that you do your best and forget the rest - what a great approach! I've already doubled the number of push ups I can do! This week is my first true recovery week (I skipped the first one since I missed quite a few workouts with my back injury) and I've lost 4 lbs in my recovery week! YAY!
Eating more protien is always a challenge, but I find that whey protien shakes help a lot and also eating 5 or 6 meals a day helps too. Like one of the previous posters I make meals a couple of days in advance and portion it out so it's a no brainer in the moment.

I started Monday 4/6. I'm 5'10 230 lbs and my stomach looks like I ate a basketball! Just finished back and legs. I am happy with the routines and the portion approach. Wish all the best of luck!! Hope to see my toes again soon.
230730 - really? a basketball? that's awesome, lol! I think you started the same day I did. You're going to do great!
sybil 878 - I discovered Whey Protein this week too! I got a huge thing of it at WalMart for like $13.00 and it's so low in carbs that it's a great start to the day. Those percentages are tough to do but are definitely getting easier. I can almost do it without planning a whole day ahead. The first day it took me an hour just to plan what i was going to eat the next day! Now it's much improved.
I had to go out of town on Friday morning so I missed two of the workouts and I was bummed. But I don't anticipate that happening again so I'll be back on track tomorrow morning. My eating didn't get out of control though and I was happy about that. I've already lost a couple of pounds and I don't want to gain it back. I'm sure it's mainly the way I'm eating that is shedding the pounds so I'm not screwing with it!
Here's to another great week for all of us!
