that's cool carie!
I am still "off" not quite feeling better enough to work out. These cramps with the flu have been horrible...Going to spend the night in the city tonight with dh, we will walk around quite a bit so that will be good. Even trading the sexier heals for my sneakers for it...he just looks at my boobs anyway :-)

So are we going to have a weigh in day?
I weigh in everyday!
I know it's a little obsessive to do that, but I do. Yesterday I was 136.5 and today I'm 137.5. Two days ago I was 138.
You should tell us what you weight and keep us informed of your progress so we can cheer you on!

Yeah I think it would be too easy for me to get discouraged if I saw it change like that everyday (the scale I mean). I know its good so you can determine how your body reacts to certain stuff right?
Sunday is my current weigh in day. Ill post then :)
I weigh daily as well. It really helps me stay accountable. I have found that I have a 3 lb window. I started out for the first week going from 199-202...then it would drop to 198-201...now it is 196 yesterday 197 today. Helps me know if I am getting enough water, ate too much salt that sort of thing. My mind is trained to only consider the low number the right one unless I stay at a higher one for a few days KWIM? Some get too obsessive and can't see the fluctuations, I know that it is just what my body does and as long as I see it go back down, It doesn't bother me if one day it is higher....monday is my official day though to track it.
I am feeling better and worked out again. Felt great! I did do a lot of walking saturday though...slow and steady, but for hours. We went to a museum and walked all over town. It was a great day.
I am going to try the turbo sculpt tomorrow to shake it up a bit...
I just received turbo jam maximum results DVDs this morning. I'm unable to begin until tomorrow morning (I'm going to try and do it before I go to work). I'm really looking forward to this workout - I hope it is not too complicated as I'm not very coordinated.
I have 38 pounds gone - I was 188 and now I'm approximatley 150. I'm only 5 feet tall; therefore I really need to lose at least another 20 pounds.
Any advice you can give, please do so.
I will let everyone know how it goes.....
bygones,
I think that actually sounds pretty good. I know the commercial states more, but I think that is if you jump around and "wiggle" like they do. She saids the more energy we put in, the more calories we burn. I know I am not coordinated enough to do it as high intensity as they do. I have a feeling that once you really get the hang of it and can "pump it up" you will be buring closer to 500 in the hour.
If you burn more than that, you will need to spend all day eating to make up for the extra burned calories anyway :-)
Hey All,
I am new here. I work in a school and was going through our dvd's and found Turbo Jam, I guess one of the kids mom's sent it in for something "fun" to watch lol.
It's the one with the learn & burn, 20 minute workout, and turbo sculpt.
I am 5'3", 128 and 24 years old. Hit a platau because I haven't worked out since my gym membership expired and I am broke. But I haven't gained.
I am going to start the learn & burn tonight, and probably do the 20 minute workout as well, I dance a lot so I think I will catch on quickly.
I don't have money for a heart rate monitor so I am wondering if anyone can estimate based on my info how much I may burn?
OR If I check my heart rate half way through the workout or at the end of the workout how do I figure out how many calories I burned? Should I be doing it half way through or in the end?
Thanks for any help.
This canadian winter is annoying, can't wait to workout outside.
Wow, I sweat less than I just sweat doing walking/running in 60 minutes.
I just did the learn and burn and the 20 minute workout, put every single ounce of effort I have in, as much as I could with some steps that I missed but I would ad something in if I missed a step to up how much I worked.
The hardest part I find is keeping the tuck and knees low.
I want to put it into my burn meter but I have no idea, perhaps I should put it as 20 minute high aerobic?
I heard that Punch, Kick & Jam burns more calories than the Cardio Parties...does anyone know if thats true?
While Im here I have a questions for everyone on here...
Do yall set your burn meter to sedentary and then add in activity? I think Im just confused by this whole thing because Im eating what it tells me to eat when Im sedentary but Im also working out...
So should I be eating more?
How much workout room do you need for Slim in 16 and Turbo Jam? I have a pretty small apartment and narrow living room. Does anyone recommend one before the other?
Thanks.
I don't use a lot of room...you need to back kick so as long as you can kick all around you, you are fine....
I did the ab workout today...sure I will feel it tomorrow...didn't hurt my back!!!!! The floor irritated my tailbone a bit, but after an injury everything does.
First day od TOm and just didn't have it in me to do a full energy workout but didn't want to skip a day KWIM...it was perfect...
Today was my second day doing Turbo Jam, since I am broke I will stick to the disk I have which is the learn & burn, 20 minute and turbo sculpt.
My stupid dvd player has no remote, so I am guessing after the 20 minute burn the turbo sculpt just follows right after without a break? Since I can't click just Turbo Sculpt with a remote I do all three all together again tonight.
This morning I had pain in my sides above my hips, my back, but not my abs as much. And after my session tonight I feel it a lot, and my lower back doesn't hurt its my upper back where I keep my shoulders back, I know all the pain is good pain *I hope*
I do my Turbo Jam in my bedroom, carpeted floor, barefoot. It seems to be ok.
I love it, only thing I don't love is no water break time lol.
haha I am so silly.
I realized the entire time the first and second time I did TJ, I was just doing the Learn & Burn.
I found my remote and watched the 20 minute workout and Turbo Sculpt and realized that yes they are different. I didnt do them just watched them, going to attempt to do 20 minute and turbo sculpt today since I don't have to work (due to snow).
I just got a heart rate monitor, calories burned watch.
The Miosense. Can't wait to use it. Now I will know how much TJ burns for me.
