That's how I felt when I first did CP1. I was falling all over the place!![]()
I just ordered Turbo Jam. It should be here on the april 1st. I've been doing the same tae bo video now for awhile and I'm getting bored. Looking forward to starting this program.. looks like alot of fun.
Hi Christa,
Chalene is a lot of fun and the music is great! You'll enjoy it. Which program did you order?
Kimberly
I ordered Turbo Jam Maximum results. With the gloves and all. Decided to go all out, I deserve it... right? I always spend all my money on my kids and never anything on myself, so this was a gift to myself.
Hi Christa,
That's the one I got also. It come with a beginning and an advanced calendar. You may want to go with the advanced calendar since you've been doing Tae Bo for awhile. You definitely deserve it! Since your just ordered it, you were assigned a Beachbody Coach. To find out who your coach is, register at WOWY.com and look on the lower left of your dashboard. WOWY is free and a great way to stay accountable and win prizes! I WOWY everyday. I haven't won anything yet, but I figure why not, it's free.
Anyway, your new coach is not able to contact you first, so contact them if you have any questions or need any assitance. They are there to help you reach your fitness goals.
Good Luck with Turbo Jam!
Kimberly
so how are you guys doing with the turbo jam?
I just tried turbo jam for the first time today. It looks like alot of fun, it's just getting used to all the moves, she goes pretty fast so I'm havin a hard time keeping up right now. I'm used to tae bo and it was one move after another most of the time. in turbo jam she's doing like three moves at once, so it's kinda confusing at first. I'm gonna keep at it though. I know I'll get it eventually. I guess I was just hoping to be able to just jump right into it.
A question though... do you wear shoes when you workout? I always exercise in bare feet. Do you think I should get a good pair of shoes?
i do it in bare feet. but i'd say once you become fitter &start jogging &such, yeah, get a nice, good pair of shoes! which workout did you do? i agree the moves can be pretty tough. im actually used to them now. it took me about a week to get into the hang of things. i find that the 20 minute workout is more suitable for a beginner. nice, clean, crip moves! punch, kick 7jam has a lot of repitition so you might find that easy. tell me how it goes! =)
btw, how many cals do you count a 1 hour session of turbo jam as?
Hi Christa,
Congrats on starting TJ! I was falling all over the place for the first 5 or 6 times. I finally got my arms to coordinate with my kicks.
I always wear shoes. I just think it's a good idea to have support for your ankles and feet with all the jarring moves. If you're young, you don't notice the miles you're putting on your feet and ankles, but you'll thank yourself when you're 40 if you've worn shoes. Chalene uses Nike Shox. They're probably expensive and I've never priced them. I use a pair of old running shoes. They have plenty of cushion left and they're actually more comfy than my new running shoes for doing TJ workouts.
KPP!

wow, thats really nice to know. i think ill start doing it in shoes then! =)
thankya!
You're welcome peachlovehominy!
You're knees will thank you too! Make sure to get a comfortable pair. With my new running shoes, I found that when I was doing Turbo Sculpt that my toes would get squished up into the front of my shoes sometimes which was really annoying. That's why I'm wearing my old ones.
really, thanks so much, aha!
i was wondering. how many calories do you other turbo-jammers have with what kind of exercise routine?
curious. lol.
You're like me, wanting to know how many calories I'm burning! I want to know exactly how many calories I'm burning! I really varies so much, ya know? It's around 250 for Turbo Sculpt, 350 for CP1 and a little more for PKJ because it's longer. The infomercials say that you can burn up to 1000 calories per hour, but I I don't know what age group and weight range of person they're talking about.
I know you're in high school or something like that, but if there's any way you could afford a Polar F4 heart monitor, you'd know exactly what you're burning and you'd have peace of mind. They cost around $90. You can find them cheaper for sure, but they might not be as accurate. Read the reviews on Amazon and other places you might find a good one for less and if you get one BE SURE that it has a calorie counter!! Lot's of heart monitors don't have a calorie counter.
Hey! I finally took the plunge yesterday and did the L&B and the 20 min workout. The L&B was really boring b/c of the slow pace. Anyway, I'm 5'2" about 177 and my HR monitor said I burned 544 between the 2. I was surprised b/c I didn't feel like I was working that hard b/c I was concentrating on getting the moves in the right order. Its a little more challenging than regular kick boxing. I'm looking forward to getting home tonight to do another. I was going to do Cardio Party, but do you think it would be better to do the kick punch jam?
Hi Kell,
I like CP1 better than PKJ (Punch, Kick and Jam). I just felt like I was burning more calories. But I only did it once and I wasn't used to the weight gloves.

all people are different. i personally like the P,K&jJ more than the CP1.
A lot of people on my beachbody message board thread like PKJ better than CP1.
really, lol. yea i love the parts before they go into "turbo." i HATE the leg work- in BOTH videos! haha
So I've been doing turbo jam for a a few days now. I decided to do the 10 day kick start. I'm going on to day 3. I've only done the 20 min and the cardio party so far, tommorrow is a sculpt day. I've pretty much gotten the hang of it now. I think I must have been tired too when I tried it the first time cause the second time was much much better.
I feel great and am looking forward to seeing what kind of results I get in 10 days. I've added more food to the plan cause it's just not enough for me. It says it's 1500 cals but I swear it's alot less. Anyhow, I'm just really excited to find a work out I like doing, so sorry if I'm going on about it.
I've been looking around for a good pair of shoes. Honestly I've always hated the way running shoes looked and have never ever actually worn a pair. I'm a chucks kinda girl. I'll get over it though.
Hi Christa,
Welcome to the boards! Congratulations on doing the kick start! Chalene's smoothies in the plan are so yummy. I check these threads fairly often, but if you like daily support and inspiration, head on over to the teambeachbody forums for TJ and you'll find people working out and posting everyday. It really works for me.
Good luck with finding shoes. I don't like my running shoes either. I want to get a pair of Nike Shox like Chalene.
KPP!
