In starvation mode...or WHAT?!?
Okay. In may I weighed 96lbs. Now 5 months later I weigh 146lbs. I find this very unfair, since I biked the whole summer EVERY EFFIN DAY 30-55 km, burning 500-900 calories in exercise alone. I did binge but never I have even reached 6000 calories a day, and I didn't binge every day, and when I didn't, I usually ate weight loss or less calories. Plus the exercise. Sometimes even 1000 calories burned extra.
And here I am, OVERWEIGHT and need to lose weight for real. I am pretty muscular, many people dont believe me when I tell them how much I weigh, but this is the truth.
I haven't binged anymore really, but I still eat too much. Usually 1700-2200 a day. I exercise most days for 300-800 calories, on the gym and biking my way there. I am 5'2 and 15 years old. It is crystal clear I have a sucky metabolism.
But what is very weird is that my hands are freezing cold all the time, and Im cold all over most of the time. How could I possibly be in starvation mode at BMI of almost 27 and exercising AND eating too much?
AND, a month ago I was 10 kilos lighter. During the last month I HAVEN'T BINGED AT ONCE AND ACTUALLY EAT AROUND 2000 CALORIES WITH EXERCISE. AND I GAINED FRIKKIN' 20 LBS!!! Life is so unfair.
What could be wrong with me. Im going to cry.
calm down...take a breath and relax. i know it's frustrating and you are very young!! that means your body is naturally going through some changes right now and weight loss is not ideal for someone of your age...which is why 96 pounds may have been too little and when you ate a more appropriate amount your body held on to the weight.
it sounds like youre eating was pretty erratic for a while and you would essentially "starve" yourself by having a huge deficit and then binge...this is a very bad pattern because after starving your body wants to hang on to every morsel of food you give it.
Right now you do fall into the oveweight category with a BMI of 27, but drastic changes will only end in further weight gain and possibly blunt your metabolism even further. Someone your age should NEVER eat less than 1500 calories, and that's without exercising.
IF you were to stick with 1700 calories daily and exercise you would surely lose weight at a comfortable and manageable pace. 1700-2200 is not TOO MUCH at all, so please don't restrict too much because you think that eating a normal amount is causing you to gain weight. it's more likely that this restric/binge cycle is causing the gain. so consistency will be your best friend.
I hope this helps :)

Thank you for replying, but it seems that 1700-2200 IS too much for me. If I gain 20 lbs in 3 weeks eating around 2000, it means it is too much. My metabolism is crap. Im going to my doctor tomorrow and I cant describe the anxiety this causes. Last time she saw me I was 100 lbs. Now Im almost 50 lbs more. Im afraid she wont believe her eyes, then call my parents and they will put me to a strict diet or something... Which I would like, yes, but I dont think I can manage the embarrasment.
And I didn't starve myself in between the binge days. I just ate diet anmout of calories. Still I gained 50 lbs in 5 months, 20 of them in 3 weeks. I can't see how this is even possible!
Since you're cold all the time, you might want to have your thyroid level checked.
I take one thyroid pill a day since my level was too low. Before taking this, I was cold and sleepy all of the time.
