Starvation Mode.....how long can I wait until breakfast

Is there a specific time after getting up that I need to eat breakfast?  I have heard that if you don't eat breakfast right away that your body will go into "starvation mode".

I get up at 530am every day......walk the dog at 615 and go to work by 630.   Can I wait until 730 to eat?  Lets say after I have had a work out and then eat at my desk?  or do I need to eat say within some time limit after I get up?

Confused  :o(

No your body wont go into starvation mode, it will only go into starvation mode if your undereating on your calories, cause you would be starving yourself and your body will store what you eat into fat.

Although you technically should be eating within the first hour you wake up. If you have trouble doing that wake up 15 minutes earlier then you normally would and have some breakfast. You want to have breakfast in the morning so you get that metabolism running.

I have changed my diet in the past two weeks and am now eating less than 50g carbs and around 100g protein along with 150mins of aerobics a week.  I really havent been counting calories, but not eating fatty foods, fried foods, etc is seeming to make a difference.....is this under eating calories?  do I really need to count them?

If you eat healthily, with a varied diet, and normal portions, that is good enough for a healthy life. Especially as it sounds like you get a lot of exorcise as well. You don’t HAVE to count calories, but if you want to know exactly what you are putting into your system, that is the easiest way to do it. For losing weight, or getting control of the nutrients, counting everything is the only way, but for a general healthy lifestyle, choosing the healthy option should do you well enogh.
