I have been doing the 1200 calories a day thing. ( Have not given up my diet Mt. Dew) I am drinking 24oz of water which is good for me. BABY STEPS!! I was on the low carb diet so I am eating a lot less than I was eating. I was down to 127 and now I am back up to 132. 17lbs to lose might not seem like a lot to some, but it's beating my butt!! I am going to stick with it and suffer through the hunger because I am eating much better with the veggies, fruits, and whole grains. My poor body don't know what's going on just getting off a low carb diet.
PS: I still HATE water

If you really feel like you are starving all the time, then have a snack. If you're only eating 3 meals a day, try eating 4-6 smaller meals a day. I'm not saying it should be easy, but I don't think you should feel like you're starving either.
Maybe 1200 calories isn't enough for you. It is the bare minimum...
Also, if you don't like water, maybe you could try a flavored one? Maybe Propel for some extra vitamins? I get the powdered packets of Propel since they are cheaper.
If you are starving 1200 calories may not be enough for you. I've found though that i can easily feel full on 1200, or starving and the difference is in what i eat. I would suggest eating lots more fiber and protein. Also choose foods that are less calories for a greater amount, like leaner meats, fruits, vegetables, eggs, and so on.
I hate water. My entire life I never drank water till now. I just recently started drinking it because it makes me eat less and drink less sugary things. The only way I have found I am able to drink it, is with crystal light. Most of the packages are only 5 calories, and they actually taste pretty good.
You need more PROTEIN!!! Try adding in some greek yogurt, eggs or lean cuts of meat, chicken, or fish (salmon is my favorite). And as for the water issue, check out calorie-free Sobe Life Water or 10 Calorie Vitamin Water.
