I am Starving!!!
This morning I ate breakfast about 10 minutes after I got up which would have been about 6:15...maybe 6:20. Normally, I eat breakfast around 8:15.
I had a pretty big breakfast: Omelete made with 2 eggs, tomatoes, parmesan cheese, 2 slices wheat bread, a little bit of oatmeal. diet pepsi.
And about 1/2 hour after breakfast I had a soy milk latte.
Its only 10:05 and my stomach is growling uncontrolably and im really hungry. WTH! Normally when I eat at 8:15 I dont get hungry until around 12. Why am I so hungry right now?
I dont even have anything to snack on atm, I just wanna know where this hunger is coming from. Argh.

well if you ate a couple hours earlier it makes perfect sense that your hunger has returned a couple hours earlier.......
But thats why I ate a breakfast so big. I dont normally eat a big breakfast. So I thought it should hold me out.
I find whenever I feel that hungry that it pays in the long run to have a 100 calorie snack. Enjoy!
I can only tell you from my experience, if I have a big breakfast then a couple hours later, I'm starving again. If I eat light then I'm okay. If I eat nothing at all, then I will over eat at night. I do eat a couple of times in the morning though, just small.

It might well be the coffee - I always get really hungry more quickly when I have coffee. Speeds up the metabolism...
I agree with amy4302...the bigger the breakfast the more ravenous I am shortly after. I always keep a piece of fruit in my desk for days I get hungrier earlier than others. Usually an apple or orange will tide me over.
Go have some veggies or drink some water :)

I feel the same way at lot of times. I have been trying to get in the habit of planning my meals the day before including my snacks.
I have a problem with portion controls, if it is front of me, I will eat it. That is one reason why I like the prepackaged meals like Healthy Choice and Smart Ones. I add my own vegetables like broccolli, spinach or a little greek salad with virgin olive oil that I make at home and carry with me to work.
Lets face it, we are a work most of the day. So I carry two meals with me.
One snack I take with me is a small fruit salad that I make at home. It curves the hunger in between meals.
Also, one of my night snacks after dinner or lunch is a Fiber One bar. I absolutely love Fiber One products. These bars are not chalky like some other bars and taste great.
I also add a little Benefiber to soft foods like oatmeal and yogurt. I prefer to have 3 small meals and 2 health snacks in between to curve the hungry monster. If I add Benefiber to my oatmeal and drink a glass of water, I am satisfied for hours.

If you usually have something to eat at 8:15 your body is going to want to be fed at 8:15, doesn't matter if you ate earlier. Our bodies seem to be able tell time better than we can.

This happens to me too.
I know this might sound picky, but what kind of wheat bread and oatmeal did you have? If it's not whole grain, just whole wheat, it may be missing some of the essentials that keep you full.
And with oatmeal, I was studying the glycemic index for a few weeks and learned that instant oatmeal is not considered as satisfying to your body as traditional slow cooked oats.
That being said, I bought a bag of steel cut oats from the health market and boiled up a big batch to last all week. I grab a cup full in the morning and reheat in the micro. and have found that they stick with me longer than the instant oatmeal packets I used to bring to work with me.
Otherwise, that sounds like a yummy breakfast. Maybe you need to up your water intake in between meals to keep your hunger at bay?

A lot of times a coffee in the morning is all I need and I'm not hungry for quite some time.
Its probably (as mentioned) because you ate so much earlier. I have really early rehearsals twice a week and I find I'm always hungry way before lunch on those days. I sneak some veggies, or a couple crackers with low fat cheese between classes and it helps to have that little bit!
and I definitely agree with the coffee thing. Personally I drink tea (decaff), just because I like it, but it helps me when I'm hungry before lunch and have no snacks!

I would have to agree... alot of the time I can have a cup of coffee at 8 or so in the morning and won't eat again until 1pm without even noticing. Weird that is so filling. Other times, I have a bowl of Special K and I am starving within an hour, I just can't figure it out.

As for the coffee, I drink coffee everyday. I dont notice it affecting my hunger at all, so I doubt thats it.
Maybe it is because I ate so much earlier but I would have thought such a big breakfast would hold me out longer ya know?
Hmmm, it may be my TTOM actually. I was eating ALL day yesterday. And not good foods either. I had pastries, chocolates, fatty foods, deep fried goodness ALL day. It was quite weird because I havent eaten like that in so long.
But anyway, today is a new day and I did not eat that early this morning. Its 8:30 now and Im eating a small breakfast as usual with my coffee. Atleast today I know I wont be hungry at 10 am.
