Hi,
I have been counting calories and exercising every day ( on day 10) and have not lost even one pound. I am 5'11" and 150 pounds. This is the heavest I have ever been. I quit smoking and also had to go on hormones, does anyone know what i need to do ? I'm trying to get back to my original weight of 135. I have been staying under 1300 cal's.
&nb sp; &nb sp; &nb sp; Thanks.
Keeping your average daily calorie intake under 1300 is starvation, indeed. It is unhealthy. Have a look around in CC for a better and balanced diet, or come back here. Mel
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Yes i gained 15 pounds went from 135 to 150. I have been at 135 for about 15 yrs, i know it sounds skinny but that has been my weight. I just dont know if this extra pounds are from not smoking or from the hormones i have to take. If its the hormone , i cant do anything about it, if not then i dont know why i havent even lost one pound. I thought you lose 5-10 pounds fast from water. Anyway thanks again for the reply........
Did you have a look at the menu Tools/Calorie Target? That should advise you on the daily calories based on your parameters. Also, do consider the balance of protein, carbs and fat in your food. Do not forget the extra activity, which would help to fire up your metabolism.

Hormones can definitely cause weight gain. You don't say what medicine you are on so it kind of depends on that. Maybe you could talk to your doctor about it?
I was on a medication years ago that made me put on about 15 lbs, it's really upsetting to have your body changing like that so I feel for you. You didn't say if the hormones were long term or temporary. When I stopped taking my medication my weight went right back down, so if you are only taking these temporarily that might happen. If it's a long term thing, you should talk to your doctor about it and see if there are any alternatives. And if that doctor doesn't have any ideas, get a second opinion, another doctor might have an idea of a different medicine or combination of medicines you could try to keep you both healthy and at a comfortable weight. good luck!
What type of food should not be eaten?
Calorie Count does not prescribe a particular diet or tell people to avoid particular foods. We only ask that you eat a balanced diet... Read more
