stationary bike vs. regular bike
Alright, so this may possibly be a dumb question but I was wondering: does actual biking (meaning, you move) burn more than stationary bikes do? Same distance, same intensity, of course.
I don't have any numbers to go off of, but it actual biking always feels like more of a workout. I use my whole core more and arms. On a stationary bike I rarely touch the handle bars, no matter what the resistance or intensity is.
Actual biking will burn more because your core will have to work to maintain your balance.
I agree, although real biking has the drawback of not being able to control the intensity of your ride or go as fast as you want/can (assuming you have to share the road or path with cars, runners, or walkers). But I'd still go with actual biking as being a better workout for the whole body.
