Stay Away from Veggie Burger at Ruby Tuesday!
Ruby Tuesday Veggie Burger
(no sides or dipping sauces: 943 calories, 52g fat, 60g net carbs, 15g fiber = 22 Points!)
Sorry, RT, but even the impressively high fiber count on this one isn't gonna win us over. Come on, nearly a thousand calories for a veggie burger?!? We demand to know what you've done to that poor patty (was it bathed in oil and butter?)! Spill it!
I got this from the Hungry Girl Website. They email some great recipes and healthy/low cal snack options and also tid bit info. like this. I just wanted to share because I would have thought a veggie burger anywhere would be a good choice, but clearly it is not.

that is crazy. you should go on their site and look at the rest of the calorie counts for their other foods, especially the burgers!! oh lord, some are the amount some people here eat in a day!
did you see the calorie amount for the broccoli and chicken pasta?! one portion is way over the daily requirement for a woman! (2041!) How on earth can they get away with that? Surely there are some health by-laws etc to what is served in a restaurant.
How do they even manage to get so much calories INTO a burger o_O; I dont think that no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't make a veggie burger at home with such calories *laughs* Unless I used slices of butter instead of cheese or something.
Being a vegetarian, I'd usually consider this a good item to order, but I no longer trust 'vegetarian' meats in restaurants. I believe it's Burger King who came out with veggie patties, and on the wrapper it said 'may include beef products.' HA.
I agree with everyone here. How in the HELL do they fry that many calories into that thing? Why not just buy a bunch of veggie patties from the store and stick 'em in the microwave? It'd be about 100-150 calories, depending on which brand you buy. I swearrrr...

if your worried about calories, simply cut it in half, save the rest for tommrow or later.
im reconing they use alot of oil and butter to add flavour and fat to the lean prtoeins in the veggies, so it tastes more like a real burger.
i personally dont like hungrygirl.com, alot of the food recipes use alot of fake stuff, which ive avoided.
im sure alot of the calories comes from the bun ( which is probably also supersized)
