ahahahahaha what? Were you throwing chairs around while pissing out green pee? Why would anyone just ask you that

That guy should know better, only people with a 3rd ear growing out of their forhead are on roids, just ask Roger Clemens.

You should watch "Bigger, Stronger, Faster".  It's a documentary about steroid use, and was very interesting.  Wikipedia article.

lmao @ spirochete... idk it was some wicked slim kid... looked like he just started working... (no offense to anyone)   might have asked cuz when im doing heavey lifting i sometimes groan... Actually today I hit my 6 month goal.. to beable to bench 300 atleast once and i did it !!  I Just gave him a weird look and said no...  he must of been like 23 yrs old or sumthing lol

Personally, steroid use has a rediculously bad rap. The claims about its negative effects are way off. The public view on androgenic-anabolic steriods (AAS) is laughable. However their ignorance is not their fault.

There are HUGE positives to taking steriods within the medical community that can help promote muscle, increase bone density, play a role in stopping obesity, increase sex drive, give an overall zest for life to many men in need, but because of the negative shadow it casts doctors are scared to presecribe it to people who could desparately use them. There are so many useful things that AAS can help with this was merely a few.

Of course taking 20 times the human limit is bad but that doesnt mean taking a little is going to have the same effects. Thousands of people die every year from taking too much asprin but i dont see anyone taking that off the shelf anytime soon. What about smoking, drinking, MCDONALDs, things that are slowly killing america. I feel there are much more important things in this world that we should worry about.

Look at birth control. BC is the equivalant of what testosterone is for men. Just a dose at which will not yield harmful side effects.

As far as athletes are concerned, i cringe when i hear people say ohhh well he juiced so anybody can do that. Steriods help, but they cant make Superman out of minny mouse. Theres also a difference in the amount perscribed. Bodybuilders are taking the most in comparison to say a sprinter. A bodu builder will take hundreds of extra milligrams where as a sprinter might take 5mg 3 days a week of dianabol.

The only consistant side effects ever proven has been Acne, other than that its pretty much a load of crap.

Did you know that testosterone can actually HELP depression where most people think it causes it. Or that it can help with insomnia, anxiety, and things we dont even know yet because noone can really study it because of the black cloud it brings with it.

Many people hear about bodbuilders or wrestlers dying and in the news the news caster will mention he had 12 times the amount of cirulating testosterone, so everyone assumes this killed him, when if you pay attention or read the diagnosis in almost every case the doctor concludes it was NOT the cause.

Now i am not saying that steroids are great and everybody should use them, but benefits can be reaped, and like anything else, used in MODERATION.

and sorry for my bad spelling and grammer, i was thinking much faster than i could type:)

Depends on whether the bodybuilder in question follows a reasonably sane level of drug use like the Governator did, or the "anything I can get my hands on" approach of the modern "pro bodybuilder".

(Side note - the first self-admitted juicer to win a bodybuilding contest was Bill Pearl, in 1952. Unless you remember the field in the Mr.America 1951 you've never seen what an unenhanced bodybuilder looks like. And most pro footballers these days make the bodybuilders from 1950-1970 look small, so you tell me...)

Most of the side effects you see bandied about in the news is just nonsense scare tactics.

In sports though, it's cheating - the rules say you aren't allowed to use it, and doing so is the moral equivalent of showing up at the start of the Tour De France on a Harley.

Unless you compete in a sport where the standards are 'anything goes', like the drug-fuelled monstrosities in current pro bodybuilding, pro wrestling, pro baseball or pro football, that is.

Yes you are correct, it is cheating which is why i dont advocate their use in that sense. But if everyone in the league is doing it, and theres millions of dollars on the line one might think a little differently

Well to be honest Iv done my research on steriods because, i know people that sell them, and iv been thinking about giving them a try, but i dont want the "roid image" of oh look... he must be juicing it...   I just watched the movie that shaepshootinstar suggested...   I think you should all go and watch it. decent movie and good info

Edit  to mick-mick, not everyones reason to use roids is toget big either...  ever think if som took roids they could run longer and faster = more cals burned = more weight lo

Well, you're far to young to need'em, IMHO - something Dave Tate said once: "Steroids are like an ace card you can play at any time - once. If you need to play your ace to be any good at high school football, chances are you won't make it in college ball, never mind the major leagues".

Steroids aren't the magic wonderdrug that the media hype make it out to be either - if you don't know what you're doing with training and nutrition, all you'll get from AAS is a bunch of side effects you'd rather do without. And if you do know what you're doing with training and nutrition, you're unlikely to need them unless you make a living from being muscular. If you're in a major league pro sport with millions riding on your performance and no-one is paying to see what the non-juicer can do... well, modern pro football don't go so far as to make it a contractual requirement to be on drugs when you sign up, but a non-juicer is unlikely to make the cut.

But the insane stuff the pros get up to as part of their job is hardly relevant to health and fitness - there's a good chance steroids are why retired NFL linebackers are dropping dead in their fifties on average, while retired sumo wrestlers with similar BMI's tend to make it to their seventies. If you were making a few mil a year as a pro you might think that trading 20 years of your life was worth it, but I don't see how that's a good trade for the sane ones among us.

Well although there are positives, you can never make sure what you are getting is pure. Example: I used to play football with Dan (not real name) well he began selling steriods. He started makin money but didnt have enough supply for the demand. So he though he would just add baby oil to make a little more. Hes now in jail, but the point is to be very cautious if you do plan to try a cycle.

Well I know the person selling them personaly.  and i know what they are (dianabol) or how ever you spell it... i dont plan on doing much cycling.. just wanna give them a shot...   In the movie sharpshootin mentioned they talked about exactly why they became illegal, and it was more for sports than for health...

...I don't know. I don't think you should.

You're in good shape already, just keep doing what you're doing now! Why mess around with that kind of stuff?

Mm, yeh, but dude, you're 19-20? If you'd been reading enough about steroids you'd know that the gearheads themselves caution against anyone under the age of 23-25 using them. Your body and brain is still developing and undergoing several important hormonal cascades - and it will do that until approximately age 23-25. Injecting hormones before the process is finished risks you winding up like Louie Simmons who shut himself down permanently - and unless you're going to become the next Mad Monk of Powerlifting, it's not a good idea to follow in Louie's footsteps.

havent made my mind yet..  arg i know i shouldnt but its hard not to at least give it a shot.. its like the last cookie sitting on the counter..  you know you shouldnt, but its hard to resist

And i may be in good shape, but Im not where I would ultimately want to be

Yea i cant see why at that age you would want to do that, wait a few years first.

Well, if you don't play your ace now, you've still got it when you really need it, and in the meantime everything you have is yours, not from a bottle.

I'm saving my ace for when I really need it - when I'm 90. I'm gonna be the baddest mofo in the nursing home ;) In the meantime, everything I have is mine and won't go away like a gearhead's muscle.

And dude, you're benching more'n I am already - find out where your natural limits even are before you start anything ;)
