Steriods.
Just making a topic to talk about.
Steriods, How do you feel about them and why
What's a steriod?
about their existence? pretty neutral...
to have feelings one way or the other would require them to be in some sort of context.

What's a steriod?
A steroid is a type of hormone made by the body. Commonly known examples of steroids are estrogen or testosterone (Wikipedia)
When most people say steroids, they're usually referring to anabolic steroids, which is similar to testosterone. They encourage cells to make protein, which results in larger cells, especially in muscles. This means if you take anabolic steroids, you'll have bigger muscles--but it's comes with some nasty side effects. (Wikipedia)
My thought on them--well... I don't like them. Enhancing your body with outside help isn't a marker of true success--you're just cheating yourself.
I am completely turned off by guys with big muscles, as are most of my female friends. So I don't see the point.
But if you want tiny testicles, hey, that's your perogative.
Took em a couple years ago... Dianabol, Testoviron Depot, and Winstrol to be exact.
Strength went throught the roof. Put on 15-20lb of muscle FAST.
Hormones got all f*ed up. Felt like a woman in menopause.
After I finished the cycle, I was so sick of lifting that I quit for a couple months... lost all my gains... got chubby instead.
I use topical steroids to manage my psoriasis. I wish they were less expensive but I'm happy to have them.
They gave me steriods to stop an allergic reaction I had to an antibiotic in the hospital. I liked steriods at that point.
Not a big fan. My husband lifts weights like crazy, and gets so ticked that he can't look like the juiced up guys. It's not fair to the people who are working hard and staying healthy. He has to eat a crazy amount of food to stay big, it's nuts.
Steroids are dangerous. Guys see other guys getting huge at the gym, get drugs offered to them, and sometimes accept. I wish that they didn't exist.
My husband gets offered 'roids all the time. The other thing that ticks him off is when people assume that he's using. He's all natural and should be respected, but some assume that everyone that's remotely big is shooting up. His doctor even asked him! Grrr...
Im neutal about anabolics... they get alot got a worse rep then they deserve.. Most side effects for men go away when you stop taking them, except baldness and a few other minor things, Yea there bad for your liver but so isnt drinking... there are people that were cycling DBOL (dianabol) at 100mg a day with no side effects other than acne, I thought about taking them... I bought some, never used it... When ever im benching at the collage gym I go to, I always hear "roids" or "steriods" beeing mutterd across the gym... i take it as a compliment but, gets annoying when people ask if im selling... you guys should watch the movie "better, stronger, faster" or something like that... good movie/documentary about users
Not to mention there are soooo many types of steroids that Im 100% sure you know someone that takes them, inhalers, birthcontrol, steroids that get rid of poison ivy, steroids for acne, and infections... steroids are used every day without thinking twice, so what do anabolic steroids get a bad rep? because they build muscle, and make a**holes into bigger cockier a**holes (aka roid rage)
systemdrop: Side effects are much worse than you think. A friend of mine had to quit halfway through his second cycle because he was experiencing an irregular heartbeat. Thickening of the walls of your heart is a major issue with steroids. He was perfectly healthy prior to taking any... played D-I college basketball at the time. Another friend got gyno... this can only be corrected through surgery. Yet another friend wasted $700 on two full cycles only to discover midway through the first cycle that he had been injecting himself with apple juice.
*ahem*, I know what a steroid is, but the topic is about a steriod.
lol at the apple juice.. Yea all depends on the steriod its self... HGH is infamous for causing thicken of heart walls as, study after study has pretty much shown that in reasonable use it has very little harsh side effect
http://www.nida.nih.gov/ResearchReports/stero ids/AnabolicSteroids4.html
Yes... in reasonable use, but most hardcore bodybuilders using HGH are injecting it 5-10 times a day.
But, thats my point, in reasonable use it is perfectly fine and as very little long lasting side effects, Steroids are just like anything else. even too much of a good thing isnt good
The really big bulky guys that use steroids scare me. They just don't look right...
all you will get from this site is 'it's against christian religion' don't do it; same as underage age sex. don't come here if you want unbiased opinion
I've read that prolonged steriod use can impede spelling ability.
^that's a low blow.
^that's how I roll.
(In life, spelling counts.)
Steroids make me think of sports players. :P
