I am sticking to it, this time.

I am 41 yo, I started smoking when I was 12yo, I had smoked a pack a day and quit for 3 yrs about 7 1/2 yrs ago. I went through a pretty stressful period and that is when I started again. Quitting the first time, was actually a breeze. I did it cold turkey and never looked back, except that I gained 60 lbs (was also pregnant at the time)

I quit (with the patch) this time 11 wks ago tomorrow. So far, I have only gained 2 lbs. When I would get an urge (I haven't had one in about 3 wks) I would remind myself just how long it took and how hard it was to put down that first cigarette and walk away and at $5/pack, I was not going back.

Good luck to you all... IMO, it really falls down to Mind Over Matter as a HUGE key to successfully quitting.
