2. how do you like your ravioli? what filling? what sauce? I like spinach ravioli with a sun-dried tomato cream sauce. I also have a recipe for butternut squash ravioli and a browned butter sauce.. sounds yummy but I haven't tried it yet.

I like veggie lasagna (using spinach, mostly, but you can also use thin slices of zucchini or squash.. you can also puree carrots and include those in the sauce with tomatoes), and I usually use ricotta in the middle (but in a pinch I've used cottage cheese) and of course mozzarella and parm on top.

I also enjoy sweet potato fries, and I have occasionally eaten them baked with cinnamon and butter, but for some reason they give me an incredible sugar rush that leaves me with the shakes later, so I tend to avoid eating them by themselves.

I also avoid lo cal items because they always have other suspicious ingredients added to make up for the lack of taste that results from whatever they took out to make it lo cal! I prefer to eat the full fat, full calorie version in moderation.

For everyday cooking I use the brown/whole grain rice or whatever it's called, which is better than white rice. I usually use rice as a bed for whatever else I made, or stir it into soup and gumbos.

I make very low calorie pumpkin muffins, using a little whole wheat flour, but mostly wheat bran and oat bran, and with egg whites and greek yogurt. no fat, no sugar (I use artificial sweetener) and the yogurt makes them moist. and high protein/fiber. but, the BEST pastries are really good buttery flaky croissants, to be savored on occasion.

Meanwhile warm some cherry pilling in the microwave. Layer one on top of the other in a dish, add some crushed nuts and brown sugar.
