Stimulus Check

Hey!  I just got mine!  $250. 

How is it $250 is supposed to 'stimulate' the economy?

What are you doing/have you done with yours?

I will be catching-up on some past-due utility bills.  Woo-Hoo!

Are we supposed to be getting more stimulus checks this year?  I thought we were done with that nonsense two years ago.

I don't mean to imply anything about age or circumstances....

But I read that only people on social security get this stimulus check.  So atleast it is going to people that probably could really use an extra $250.00. 

Grats on getting some extra cash mspw....even if it isn't enough for that Hawaiian vacation. 

Yeah, that's my understanding too - the only ones getting cash in hand are those getting SS, whether it be retirement or disability income.

I believe for the rest of us the "stimulus" came as an additional credit on our tax returns.  So I guess those who get refunds are probably getting bigger refunds than they normally would have.   Those of us that pay should in theory owe less, but my family (self employed hubby) made almost to the dollar the same amount of money in 2008 as in 2007, and still had to pay an additional $200 this year, so it didn't help us one bit.

It looks like my hubby's paycheck increased 30 dollars because of this stimulus.  He is a state worker.  A disabled friend clued me in to look at his paychecks- it was so little that I hadn't noticed it.  So we're putting our huge amount of 'extra' into our car payments.
