Stoking the Motivational Fires
Motivating yourself and keeping the fire stoked takes a bit of ingenuity. What may work for you would be detrimental to another. The mind is a fabulous thing when trained properly. Remember the incredible hulk? When faced with a tragedy he got a burst of adrenalin and transformed. Now by no certain means am I asking everyone to be an incredible hulk but is there a reason why we cannot stay pumped on the adrenalin of weight loss?
Head and heart are two very different beasts. The head may tell you to log your calories and count the food intake. The heart may tell you ‘aw gee, I just don’t feel like it today’. Is your fire smoldering? Have you become lax in calorie counting? Lax in exercise? Lax in drinking your water and watching your salt shaker? All of these combined w/ a mental attitude of ‘hey I don’t need to do this anymore’ could result in a few pounds gained.
Revisit your goals. Write them down so you can SEE them. I am a very sensory person; I see my goals, I voice my goals. I truly believe in voicing goals out loud for the universe to hear. It also firms them up in my mind when I literally voice them. It may sound nuts, but if my car could talk it would tell all kinds of stories. My car hears many stories and many of my goals. I voice them like a mantra. I ask for what I want and then I take it. Hmm, maybe I should have the car sign a confidentiality agreement.
Experience the journey and find what works best for you. Stoke those fires and keep them burning, keep them raging…not just smoldering. Catch the visual between a slow smolder and a raging inferno. Which are you?

Thank you so much for your post. Man, did I ever need to hear those words!! I need to get myself back on track and back in the game. I have been listening to the nay-sayers too long and not myself (in the car). I know what I need to do, but need the kick in the pants to do it.
Thanks,
J-mom
THANK YOU!
