this is going to sound strange considering i am just beginning my weight loss journey. but for those of you who have already lost a significant amount of weight i was wondering what happens to all the extra skin in and around your stomach, thighs, arms and is there anything to help tone that up? i just know even through all my efforts i'm still never going to get back my flat abs due to the fact that i let myself go w/ all the mcdonalds fries orders and it's depressing to think i won't look my best. any suggestions?

That really depends on how much you have to lose and how quickly you lose it, along with age and luck and maybe some other factors. If you only have 20-30 lbs or less to lose and you do it slowly I doubt the skin will be a problem for you.

well, i think it depends on how heavy you are right now... at my biggest i was 315.. and i had a child so i kno ill have some saggy skin over my stomach... i chatted with a female who at her highest was 305 and now she is 145 and she says she has alot of saggy skin( and she lost is over a period of 3 years!!!).. she gave me the advice of saving for a tummy tuck.. lol.. i took her advice...   like i said, i think it depends on how big you are now, and how small you want to become...

thanks ladies! yes i'm hoping to lose the 1-2 lbs a week and hopefully my skin will gradually shrink back w/ regular exercise and everything and if that doesn't work and i'm unhappy with the results, after a few years of maintaining my goal weight i could always look into a tummy tuck.
