My stomach hurts while digesting

Does anyone else have this happen? It only happens after I eat and while it's digesting. Different foods don't make a difference it does it all the time. I'm not stuffing myself and I don't have indigestion.

If it carries on you should ask your doctor for advice.  It's not normal to experience pain after eating unless somethings gone a bit awry... Stomach ulcer for example.

In the meantime you could try the following to make eating a more pleasant experience...  Eat slowly, chewing food really well before swallowing.  Sit up at a table to eat rather than on a sofa or on the hoof.  Sip warm water between mouthfuls.  Eat regularly in a 'little and often' style rather than going too long between meals.

But do see your doctor if it's no better in a day or two.

Thanks gi-jane. I had an endoscopy a year ago and there was no ulcer. It doesn't last long maybe 15 min to an 1/2 hr after eating and then I have to normally run to the bathroom.  Needless to say it makes eating out not a fun adventure. I have to sit for that long after eating because inevitably I will have to run to the restroom.

It sounds like your gallbladder has quit working entirely, or like IBS. Get thee to a gastroenternologist! And don't stop getting different tests until you find out what's wrong. They can do all kinds of things to test your motility - HIDA scans, gastric emptying tests, barium scans, etc. Sometimes you've got to be a bit pushy - my doctor would give me one test that wouldn't show anything, and I'd have to keep bugging him to order more until we got answers.

thanks mel. I don't have a gall bladder for about 7 years now so maybe it's IBS. I have a Doc appt on Tues.
