hi group, i have problems sleeping. I go into a really relaxed state of sleep and feel my breathing slowing until i've dropped off. the next thing im awakened suddenly gasping for breath, but it makes my body jump. I only seem to get this when ive done a lot of exercise at the gym or weight training which is weird, does anyone else suffer with this.
no i haven't. I have done a bit of research on the internet and thought it was that myself but the doctors say im not over weight and i don't snore or smoke. so it doesn't tally but think i'll have to follow a sleep study up.
Thanks for your post
While it is true sleep apnea is more common in overweight people it can affect everyone. Your symptoms of gasping for air and body twitching / jumping are common with sleep apnea. I'd continue to be persistent with your doctors and check out this forum http://www.cpaptalk.com . Good luck.
