So all my life I have a been girl who?s always made an attempt to look and feel my best.. but it seems that ever since I started gaining weight I became kinda ?slobbish? ..I realize that I stopped making an attempt to do my hair everyday.. I never used to wear gymshoes? now they have become my buddies.. and if it weren?t bad enough.. it seems that once I decided to loose weight I became even bummier lol.. why? I think I keep thinking that I will miraculously become this swam when I loose weight.. like I can?t do anything in my life until I loose weight.. ok so I am over that and decided to not wait to loose weight to feel my best. So here it is ladies, we must enjoy our bodies as they are.. celebrate that 1 pound lost and be a little vain. Yes weight loss overall is for better health but there is nothing wrong with feeling sexy/fearless while doing it ! so take a nice bath, get a mani-pedi (or google how to do it urself) exfoliate, SHAVE, put on some killer stillettos and start doing all those things u plan on doing once u loose weight. Maybe I am the only one who feels this way but I just thought that I would share..now tell me what is it that u do to make urself feel FAB!?

I always wear lipstick and at least mascara.
I can't wear nail polish, because I work with food, but my nails are always filed.
I believe that you should not wait to start your life. Life is constant and never stops regardless of how much you weigh.
Your life is a work in progress.

Finally im not the only one who feels like this. For the past month i have had the winter blues. Ive gain 8pds over christmas and my life just felt not worth living. At the moment i slum about in baggy clothes i wont even attempt to put my jeans on because i feel so fat even tho i wont see that much change just a bit bigger. I have felt so down that it makes me turn to food for comfort. But im going to take your advice. Ive just got married and moved into our new home. I should be on top of the world my husband thinks its great ive put on weight and loves my curves. I however feel differently but its all in my head. I feel like if i get the 8pds of again my life will be so much better which is not true because it didnt make the problems go away before. Ive just lost all interest in the way i look and i dont want to feel like this anymore. Im going to make the most of my body and dress up this weekend and go somewhere nice instead of hiding away. Life is too short. Thanks i needed that.
This is so true! And I'm glad to see this come up here. All my life I have been very "slobbish" in baggy clothes to hide myself because I hated my body so much and I wasn't worth the extra effort to put into myself. Always figured that once I lost weight I would be able to take care of myself more. But of course now I understand that it doesn't work that way. I have started working very hard now to heal myself from the inside out. And now, of course, I am taking much greater care in myself and my appearance.
When I want to make myself feel really good, I use my nice expensive shower gels and body lotions when I shower. Makes me feel soooo good :3 lol

I am glad that you guys understand.. I have a friend that finally decided to the "brazilian" and wear those undies that ppl say big girls "aren't" supposed to wear.. I love her for that! she says she feels liberated funny huh
Haha. I always get ready and dolled up. Unless I'm feeling lazy.
I think my quest for a healthier life is fun, and not depressing!

Irisguevara, what a great thread! I've been overweight all my adult life, and I've never done much to make myself look or feel good. Years ago, I used to paint my nails in wild colors, but I think I'm too old for that now.
I'm not sure WHAT I'm going to do, but, starting tomorrow (I'll get home too late to care tonight!), I'm going to do something to make myself feel pretty. I'll be watching this thread for ideas :)

I really feel like I don't want to go out and see anyone since I gained back some of the weight I lost but as I am losing I feel even more fat because it's making me aware of my weigth all the time which is both good and bad. On the one hand it's keeping my eating in check but on the other I feel fat adn ugly ohhhh how do I stop this feeling. ;-(
Ladies, ladies! This is a GREAT thread!!! Here is a thought... Find yourself a Mary Kay consultant, and have her come over (get some of your girlfriends together) and give yourselves facials!!! I used to use MK and then quit for a while and used a cheap brand of facial cleanser. Well, last year, I became a consultant (just for the discount!!!!) and I started using the Basic Skin Care again, and I tell you what! I felt SO good about myself (even though I was overweight!). I felt like a "woman" again! I also bought myself some of the Color 101 makeups, and started using them, and it just made me feel really good about myself. It's amazing what a little face cleaner and makeup will do for you! :-)
Oh, I just read that, and that last part didn't come out right! What I meant was, It's amazing what a little face cleanser and makeup will do for your self esteem! :-)
Oh my gosh! I am right there with you! Ever since I gained weight and had kids, I have been living in stretch pants, sweat pants and the ugliest baggiest jeans and college sweatshirts. I would pull my hair back in a ponytail and I was good to go.
But now that I have lost 18 lbs so far, I find that now I am taking more time to curl my hair, I am choosing my outfits with much more care and today was the first time I wore sweatpants in public in about 5-6 weeks! The only reason I did was that I had 5 loads of laundry to do and that was about it in my closet!
The latest thing I have done is I bought a new sexy bra from Victoria secrets since I am pretty sure most of my weight loss has come from my chest! LOL :)
