Strange combinations of foods
Hehe...has anyone else ever tried putting brown rice in their tea? It's actually pretty good lol.
I'm not sure why, but I've really gotten into mixing lots of different foods together, and I, of course, know I can't be the only one, so I'm curious about who else likes to do this, and what you think your strangest combination(s) is(are)?

peanut butter in my oatmeal....I KNOW, I know it sounds normal, but my mom and my stepdad look at me like I'm nuts when I do it. oh, and i also love macaroni and cheese with ketchup. haven't had that in forever. and a peanut butter and cream cheese sandwich is really delicious too. :D
spekgirl, the mushrooms in honey sound really good actually; mushrooms have that light, spongy texture, with a bit of a creamy flavor, and honey, especially raw, is one of the best tasting sweet things...I haven't had honey in a long time, and even thouhgh I didn't plan on having tonight, I think I'll have some anyway :)
I absolutely love raw carrots dipped in tomato sauce. ![]()
hmm...avocado and apple sandwich? is that weird...its quite good, :)
and i kinda but like cinnamon on everything ha, not everything but like in a tofu scramble along with curry and cumin i love cinnamon in savory dishes...
If I am eating mashed potatoes and broccoli, I HAVE to dip the broccoli into the mashed potatoes lol. Is that strange? I have been doing that since childhood lol
Hehe, nah, when I was little I used to dip my broccoli or raw carrots in my mashed potatos too. As a side dish with some chicken noodle soup my mom made (none of that canned stuff), I just had cut up potatos and apples mixed into pumpkin with 4% cottage cheese and cinnamon...mmmm...its especially good with a little slice of cheddar cheese and a few peanuts. It'd probably be even better if I heated it up, but I've completely stopped using microwaves so I don't know how lol
BBQ sauce. On most anything. Raw veggies, eggs, cooked veggies, pasta, rice, even oatmeal. It's my condiment for everything.
that is one of the most popular teas in asia, it is called gen mai cha, and it is popped rice in green tea, back in the day peasents used to put popped rice in there tea to bulk it up so that it lasted longer, but now days it has became a popular tea, i have that tea i bought it from the tea store its good~erica
I dont think you guys have Vegemite in America? But anyway if you ever have some, try it with avocado on toast.
SOOOO good I'm not even kidding :):):)
And Vegemite on toast with soft boiled eggs
As for an unhealthy choice, one of my favorite odd combinations is... chocolate covered Doritos. Sounds weird, tastes amazing!
My favorite odd healthy combination is something my aunt called "summer pasta," which is made with pasta noodles, plain yogurt, cucumbers, mint, and a tad bit of lemon. Mmm.

I knew a girl in highschool who was in love with BBQ sauce as well. She'd use it as salad dressing, and even mix it in with her milk. The milk thing kind of made me a bit gaggy. Not sure if I could ever mix condiments with milk!
As a kid, I would only eat popcorn if I had a glass of milk to go with it. Now I hate milk, except on cereal or in foods, can't even stomach the thought of drinking a glass of milk...ick!
Also, pretzels dipped (more like "dredged through") in cream cheese. Or pretzels dipped in sour cream and onion dip. Or in chili con queso.
Grape Nuts with orange juice on them instead of milk. Nutty and fruity and good!
Ramen noodles with a bit of mayonnaise mixed in along with the seasoning packets.
Steak and mayonnaise, forget about the steak sauce!
Fries and mayo, though this is quite common in Europe. I think they have the right idea, who needs ketchup?
Fried or poached eggs sprayed with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray (which my mom has to ship to me from the US now that I'm in the UK!) and Texas Pete hot sauce (which she also ships to me). The eggs HAVE to have runny yolks to mix up with the spray butter and hot sauce.
Day-old salad. Sounds gross, but I love it nice and cold out of the 'fridge, a bit wilted from the dressing being on it all night. Esp. love the slightly wet and not-so-crunchy-but-still-good croutons the next day!
Cold meatloaf on white bread with ketchup. Used to eat it all the time as a kid.
Of course, now that I am trying to lose the weight I have gained since moving to the UK (Who says the food over here is awful? I think it's heavenly!), most of these fave, weird food combos are forbidden to me!
while posting this I am eating egg whites, pumkin, spinach and yam noodles all microwaved. The sad part is that I don't think this is abnormal... I walk home faster from work just to eat it!
for me is apple with eighter white cheese or milk like with milk its sooo good u bit into a apple then drink some milk the mike makes the apple less sour more sweete and the apple bring out the milk flavore its soo good and in my school ppl put hot cheedos in their bagel like they cut open a bagel and spread cream cheese on it then put hot cheedos ontop of the cream cheese
Weird food combos??? My daughter is known for this! Two of her fav's are:
Wendy's Chicken Nuggets dipped in her Frosty. Doesn't matter whether it's vanilla or chocolate...
Beef Ramen noodles with cinnamon sprinkled in it.
Me? I like cabbage fried with hamburger and LOTS and LOTS of ketchup!
Dang, lots of you people are crazy for ketchup lol. I've got a friend who's like that too; I swear he would be content if all his food just tasted like ketchup lol.
I used to like ketchup too, but I decided to stop because of the HFCS in it; I know I could probably go to a health food store and find one, but does any one already know about any brands that don't have preservatives? Just curious.
Not a fan of ketchup but I will put soy sauce on everything ![]()
I'm another ketchup lover
I have it with eggs, sausages, pasta, potatoes, chips (fries), on salad and sometimes in ham sandwiches.
Not sure how odd it is but I love gravy on my tomatos
OH MY GOD! Avocado + vegemite.. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Where can I see 1/8th or 1/6th of a pie or angel food cake?
This is the best way to picture a portion of pie or cake: Draw a circle to represent the circumference of the cake or pie (9" pie? 10" cake?... Read more
