ok i'm wondering if anybody else feels like this and if theres a way to fix it- when i wake up in the morning and my stomach is COMPLETELY empty (so if i havent eaten in about 12-16 hrs) i love the way i look. seriously- i feel fit, skinny, and healthy. but then i eat. and i feel very very fat because my stomach gets so full and it just gets worse throughout the day. how can i avoid this?! (besides not eating)

i mean, i just want to look like what i do in the mornings all the time- then i would very happy with myself. but when i eat i get bigger. HELP please!

I also have this feeling. I wake up after a good day of working out and eating good, and think I look better. Most of the time my scale doesn't agree with me, though.

About you getting bigger, it's probably all mental. Just stick to your good habits you've picked up and soon enough, you'll be looking great all the time.

boss im pretty sure its not mental..lolthat happenst to me too! i wake up and have an amazing flat stomach with my abs slightly showing(faintly lol)..by the end of the day my stomach bloats after food and its like ive gained 2 inches on the belly.
it think its just bloating and water retentions, etc.  i dont think theres anything we can do about it sadly =/
It's all in your head, you feel like you've screwed up. The reason you get bloated, or think you have, is because you've fasted too long. Try having some yogurt (dannon light n fit) with a SMALL apple shortly before bed, or some small meal that isnt much over 150 calories and your body will not go so into shock when it finally gets food. PS: for breakfast are you sugary cereal or something else unhealthy or a bowl of oatmeal with fruit? it all depends on what you give your body and when not what your mind thinks. Believe me, i've struggled with anorexia and bulimia.
its cause you are skinny and food makes it seem/feel like it sticks out more than it does. i felt like that when i was younger nut now i know its just thin shape with a meal inside.

drink water with your meals and make sure you are getting proper fiber. having small meals thru out the day instead of one large meal.

it really doesnt stick out as much as you think it does.
as long as your meals are small and frequent (and healthy of course) then you shouldnt be bloating really. remember going without food for more than 3 or 4 hours makes your stomach stick out because something about the acid in it.... i read that somewhere but dont remember exactly what it said..

but anyways, eat small frequent meals and snacks. take potassium or eat potassium rich things because it counter acts sodium, which makes you bloat. that was in the latest self magazine:)
I'M LIKE THAT TOO!!! and it drives me insane!  I've realized I also feel heavier and look heavier after I exercise... like before I do I can see some muscles in my tummy and my legs, but then after it's like a bunch of fat covered it all up...it's really weird.

But lately it seems like to get to at least 1200 calories I have to eat so much that I do get bloated or feel like my belly is sticking out...I really hate it.
I know EXACTLY what you mean. When I wake up in the morning I feel so skinny and sexy but once I start eating that compleately goes away and I feel bloated all day. I HATE it and I don't know what causes it. I feel like that whn I drink water too, I still drink it though...
i thought this was a nice and easy way tothink about it:

"My own dietary guidelines for people are actually quite simple. It involves looking at your hand. You have five fingers that represent five meals to eat in a day (3 meals and 2 snacks). The serving size of any food you choose should be either the size of your palm or able to fit in the palm of your hand. Meals can have 4 servings from any categorie of food. Snacks have 2 servings. Your five fingers also represent the 5 liters of water you should drink over the course of the day. If you follow these guidelines you will limit your portion sizes so that you should be able to produce weight loss without excessive attention to detail. "

Could just be your posture and gravity.

In the morning right out of bed, I stand up straighter and taller than at the end of the day. I also shrink almost 1/2 inch in height from morning to night.

OMG!! I know ecxacly what you are talking about, I used to feel like that, but I learned a strategy not to feel like that.

My first meal, is always small, dont eat until you are full, eat until  you are satisfied or not hungry, being full is what causes that bloty feeling, then like everyone else says, eat another meal 4 hrs later, and again dont get full, just take in what ever your body is happy with.

It's a delusion--feelings aren't facts.

You are fine just as you are.

I am on one of the south beach diet and i have to say when you dont eat carbs you dont get that awful full feeling...just satisfyed.

It could also very well be in your head. just remember you need to eat your calories to loose weight...rather then focusing on the fact u just ate focus on the fact u just ate healthy!
Not to sound gross but I get the awful full gross feeling but it is usually from gas, or not eating enough fiber to make me go pody. Hence I get a little backed up. Yes, it does get worse throughout the day. Try not to eat large portions and make sure you watch your sodium intake to avoid the bloating throughout the day. I feel like a complete fatty when I am all bloated out from eating. Wish I was at the point of waking up and having a flat stomach. =)
not to sound like a commercial but Activia really does work for the bloats.  it did for me anyway.  good luck.
anathema I liked that post!
Well I am not like you at all. I feel good when I feed my body, as in I am aware that I am giving It nutrition for it to be healthy and for it to be running properly. Maybe try to look at it from this point of view?

However if I eat junky food say candy and too much of It I'll feel bad too but that's because it really is bad for me.

I have this relationship to my body now where I'm treating as something that is mine and it's my responsibility to take care of It and you know yourself that your body needs food to stay healthy oh heck to survive.

I hope this post helps you.
