Strangest Thing Your Pets Do
I've never met a pet that doesn't have one... odd habit.
Sometimes funny, sometimes gross, sometimes just odd. Tell us all, what sort of odd habits do your pets have?
I'll go first. One of our cats, Epiphany, if she's looking attention will throw herself at the ground (or bed or whatever is under her) and rub around, purring. It's the strangest thing ever!
Sake likes to tuck herself in Alex's crotch. If it's open, she's in it. When she was smaller she liked to sleep under his butt cheeks when he would sleep on his side.
She does a lot of weird stuff, but the attraction to Alex's junk is the strangest to me.
One of my cats, Banjo- for some reason he just loves to sleep on his back and bask in the sun all day with his crotch exposed and arms over his head. It is still cute nonetheless
The other cat I have- Shadow, she likes to talk and nod her head a lot- I've had her since she was 6 or 8 weeks and we have our own weird communication using body language.. She is very perceptive and gets me. :)
sometimes when Murphy drinks water he submerges his entire snout in the bowl and kinda slurps it instead of lapping it up like a normal dog. it's hilarious, but doesn't help with the fact that his jowls store water which then drools out all over the floor when he's done.
Love the stories!
My dog Bella loves water bottles, empty or not. She will grab one from the floor or even table whenever she can, chew the cap off, and then carry them around in her mouth. She also loves to bite on them when she does it, creating this really loud cracking noise for attention.
Also, when she was younger, she used to lay next to my Playstation2 or Sega gaming systems, and after I played for a while, she would hit the consoles with her paw. Let me tell you, she preset the "reset" button more times than I could count. Guess she was jealous. Aw, poor baby.

haaha dogs are awesome!
murphy also HATES drinks with carbonation. if if i open a soda or beer near him, and he gets a whiff of it he will actually try to smack it out of my hand with his paw.
My dog Star will always, always jump on the bed when I'm using it to sort laundry. She waits til I have my clothes separated from my husbands, then she will plop her furry butt right down on his stuff. If I let her, she will snuffle through the pile till she finds his underwear, then just lay on his clothes with her face in his shorts. It's a little freaky.
My dogs always want the same bone...even when there are 2 of exactly the same bones...they will both try to get the same one. They are sneaky about it too...like when one has the bone the other will stare at it and whine...then suddenly run to the door barking like there is something there...so when the other gets up to see the action...the other rushes back to get the bone.....cracks me up!
When I come home my girl abbey will run up to me really quickly, turn around and stick her but up in the air, slowly slide down into a flat pancake ( well as flat as her big butt can get) and wait for pets. She also hates pretty much everyone but me.. she will snuggle uip close and suck on my hair while hissing and glaring at anyone that gets too close. she carries her "baby" cat toy in her mouth around the house.
My boy hunter.. asks for treats. he will sit on the coffee table, look at you and meow, if that is not enough, he will stick his paw out towards you to while meowing.. if said treats are near by he will also pat the treat bag. he is also ocd when it comes to cleaning and will constanly be grooming something. His favorite toy .. marbles... chases them everywhere.

You wash your clothes and your husbands in the same load? I always wash my husbands separately, since they tend to fade if I don't. And who wants a bunch of faded, ratty-looking husbands? Not me.
(no offense intended; I love the idea of having multiple husbands that you use and wash like clothes.)
Meet Butter, the dog-toy-humping cat.
Molly T. Doggeh hates to pass gas. When she does it, she jumps up and runs around whining.
Biscuit T. Kitteh likes to sit with her body shoved under my chin and bite me. I think she thinks this is a good way to show love.
Max T. Kitteh head butts my hand for attention, but I obviously am unskilled at petting because he shakes his head in frustration, meows at me and walks away in disgust.

D'oh! Grammar fail ;)
Poncho (my chihuahua) is a complete weirdo. ha. He sings when I come in the house sometimes. He throws his head back and gets pretty loud sometimes. It even sounds like he is trying to make words. He has a little dance he does on command too.
He is very nosey also. He likes to sit and watch me. If I put shoes on, he knows I'm going out. If I take out his toothpaste or some bathing supplies he runs and hides where he knows I can't get him. He even listens to my phone conversations and picks up on words like ; walk, park, or the names of people that he likes and gets excited. If I take something out of his cage, like to wash the little blanket in there, he has run and thrown his body on it and dragged it back in.
My cat Harley has a foot fetish. She will grab my foot between her paws and bite and lick it, and she will bury her head in my shoes after I take them off.
And once, I tried to give her a cat treat, and she was not at all interested... until I picked it up with my toes and put it in front of her- then she devoured it. The weirdo.
Our beloved cat Caesar loved potatoes, in any form. My husband had a plate full of fried chicken and mashed potatoes on a TV tray. Caesar stood up, grabbed a paw-full of the potatoes and proceded to spend about 20 minutes thoroughly licking it off his paw. He would also steal french fries and especially home fries out of your hand if you took your eye of the plate for a second.
Cleo will only drink water out of a glass. If you give it to her in a bowl, she completely turns up her nose. But she will smash her furry face all the way down to the bottom a glass to get some water. Yes, she is spoiled. That's why her name is Cleopatra!
i made a whole thread about my cat envy's strang love of any source of water. this also includes the toilet water. i have to keep the lid down.
she is also incapable of using a litter box properly. doesn't cover her business. but instead, scratches the edges of the litter box, the floor around the litter box, and the wall behind the litter box.
and she loves to eat twizzlers pull n peel.
One of our three cats (also named Cleo) is obsessed with blistex. Only blistex, no other kinds of chap stick or lip balm. When you take the cap off, he comes running no matter where he is - as soon as he smells a whif. He gets whipped up into a frenzy and will do anything to get to my face and lick it off after I put it on my lips. (Yes, it's gross but I do it anyway... it's cute.)
He won't lick it off the tube. Only off my lips. And, he won't lick it off anyone else but me.
He goes nuts for the blistex. More so than any kind of treats or people food. It's pretty funny. And more than a little bit weird.
All three of the cats love water from the tap (sink or bathtub). But Cleo loves to drink it when it's dripping off Chesster's head. Chesster and Cleo hop on the sink every morning, we turn on the water, it drops down and Chesster drinks it. Cleo licks the drops of Chesster's head. None of them really like water from a dish/bowl, even if I change it multiple times a day.
Our third cat, Belle, prefers to drink the water from plants as I am watering the plants.
Our cat Fish (the daughter got her when she was in an apartment at college where cats were not allowed, but fish were), loves stuffed toys.
She has taught us to play fetch and will deliberately place her mouse under a display cabinet through much pushing and shoving and then stalk the mouse until one of us gets a stick and fishes it out, whereupon the process is repeated.
She plays fetch with herself by taking her starfish to the top of the stairs and after sufficient stalking, pokes it through the stair rails to make it escape downstairs, chases it, pounces on it, kills it and carries it off giving everyone the evil eye should we attempt to eat her prize - repeat repeatedly. Much LOL.
One of my Chi's jumps constantly. She will only jump as high as the gate she's behind. She stands behind me and butt-bumps me with her head. It's like her feet are springs and she just keeps bouncing all day.
