stress and gaining :(

Hi! I just wanted some opinions and maybe some advice on something. I work in a private school with kiddos diagnosed with autism, so I am rarely sitting, always playing/running/chasing lol kids for my day. I get enough sleep because I go to bed at like 9 at the latest. After work I am so drained that I go home and relax for a bit and have dinner before I exercise...I do 60 minutes on the elliptical 4 days a week and 2 days running 5 mile (Saturday and Sunday). My question is.. Why am I still gaining? I don't count calories because I've mostly recovered from an ED and It becomes a game Everytime I try. Two years ago I was 230 pounds, dropped to 112 now I'm 140... I'm happy and healthy but I wouldn't mind all this running around and exercising to start paying off.

I am also a little annoyed when I see all these super tiny girls eating pizza and chips for lunch and I'm grazing on baby carrots and fruit all day. Why do they get to have that and I don't... Honestly I don't want it, I can't remember the last time I had pizza or fast food , but I know they go home and sit on their butt and I'm struggling to stay under overweight! Sorry--minor rant there.

So eating wise I've been trying mostly organic because I feel good when I do.. No soda either: B:egg omlet S: apple/banana L: carrots, cucumbers, strawberries, ww string cheese, almonds S before gym: pretzels and fruit D: either chicken, turkey burger, or whole wheat pasta. Usually a small dessert because I earn it but that's the only bad thing I eat all day.

..any thoughts?

Thanks guys! Enjoy your weekend!

You're probably gaining because your entire diet is carbs and fat, you mustn't get more than 30 grams of protein a day...  First of all, remove the pretzels, string cheese and almonds from your diet altogether.  For breakfast, go with egg whites, a fat free cheddar cheese, a few tomatoe chunks, and low fat ham for your omlette.  For lunch go with a can of tuna and your usual veggies/fruit.  Fruit is a great choice for a pre-workout snack.  Sounds like you're doing the right thing for dinner as well.  For dessert try a fiber one bar or a special k bar, they're relatively low on calories and they taste excellent.
