Stretch mark trials!!
Ok, so far for a couple of weeks each, I have tried for stretch marks, Cocoa Butter sticks, Vitamin E oil, Bio Oil, Suave Cocoa Butter Lotion with Shea. Each total garbage. Next I am giong to try the St. Ives Lotion with Colagen and Elastin. Has anyone else tried this and Dry Brushing? No money for Lazor.
Thanks,
Jan
Are your stretchmarks red/purple or silvery white? IF they are red/purple the creams might help - anything with vitamin E is particularly good. However, if they are silvery white then there is pretty much nothing you can do to improve their appearance. It sucks, but its true. They will however, continue to fade with time.
I have more than a map of all the different colors. It's horrid. If exersize is involved frequently in order to build muscle, do you think most would fade within a year or two, or could it be longer?
Pretty much with stretch marks (just like with cellulite) you're just going to have to accept them unless you're going to have surgery. And that's not a good path to go down. Especially for vanity. It's invasive and has proven fatal in more cases then the medical boards care to notify the public about. Put it in the back of the mind and continue doing what you're doing to get yourself where you want to be because if you obsess over this, you're going to drive yourself crazy. You might even surprise yourself one day and look down and barely see any stretch marks. There's no time table associated with stretch marks and cellulite. No miracle creams and lotion to make them completely disappear. Stretch marks and cellulite are natural anyway and you and other people either accept you for you or they don't. If you're destined to have them, you will have them. If you’re not destined, then you won’t. There are things to help diminish the appearance like what you've said; weight/strenght training creams, lotions, etc. Even if you do use creams and lotions, it’s meant for the prolong use. It’s not going to help diminish the appearance overnight or in two weeks anyway. Then also educate yourself on stretch marks maybe that will give you more insight on which direction to go and which methods to best use for you. If they go away after everything you do, then that’s great. If they don’t, you’re going to have to learn to accept yourself for what and who you are. I have them both. Cellulite from weight gain and stretch marks on my stomach from child birth and on the underside of my arms from weight gain. I'll probably get rid of a good percentage of both but if I don't get rid of any of it...who cares? Something that sometimes come with the body aging.
Thank you for the advice, I know that you are right and a real friend from afar. Doesn't hurt to try though. Good luck with everything that you are going through also. What a journey huh? Ups/Downs. I do love it now though, healthier and happier.

I know....what a journey. But in the end...I can't wait.
Ugh! Stretch marks! I got mine from the 9th month of pregnancy. That was four years ago, and I still have mine, plus a little loose skin since I've been losing weight. It makes me feel really old, and I'm only 27. I've tried creams as well, asked my doctor about it, and they all say the same thing as the other posts: Nothing to do about it. It's definitely not the answer I want to hear. There's got to be something out there. I can't lose hope, but I am also thankful my body is in better health and shape now. Please share if you find a miracle!
I'm lazy this morning so I'm just going to copy and paste a blurb from the Simply Fit Web site. (My standard disclaimer; Just because it's on the Internet, doesn't always mean it's right.)
Quote: "Researchers at the University of California at San Francisco expected the jelly (petroleum) to slow the healing process and were surprised to find that it actually enhanced the regeneration of skin cells. This shouldn't be interpreted to mean that using a petroleum-based product on your stretch marks will make them disappear. The healing process will be enhanced, however, and your skin will benefit as well. In fact, most dermatologists have for many years recommended petroleum jelly for stretch marks.
Petroleum jelly, or petrolatum, is found in varying degrees in most moisturizers and skin-care products; the problem is, it's greasy and messy to use. Even so, pure jelly or a product high in jelly will definitely be less expensive and more effective than most designer-labeled so-called moisturizers on the market."
