Don't be upset, 5 feet and 106 pounds is a perfectly healthy weight. And 31 inch hips is very small. Why do you struggle with your weight? You sound perfect to me. If you are unhappy with your body shape perhaps working out/toning up with make you feel better, or eating better/healthier foods which will always make the body feel better.

thank you for that. :) I have always had a body image issue. everytime i look in the mirror i see a 300 pound person looking back. when i was younger i was anorexic. i have overcome that & i love food now. ha. i have just started to work out at the gym. so hopefully i will start to see results.

those are my measurements as well... I know how you feel.

You're an extra-small, small at worst.  You have a BMI that's almost in the underweight range and you dare post in weight loss???

Fishing for compliments much?  Get a grip, if you don't think you're in shape then maybe you should excersize and tone up.

Maybe I shouldn't post because I don't care if you think you're fat, but someone needs to tell you to get over yourself.

i am not fishing for compliments. i could give two **** what other people think of me. It is how i think of myself. i was curious if other people felt the same way as me. and apparently someone does. that was extremely hurtful what you wrote! i am not comfortable with my appearence hence why i am going to the gym. i thought from this forum i could get some support.

Fair enough.  The medical opinion is that you are hovering just inside the healthy weight range.  So it may not be normal, since in this world obese is the norm, but you would definitely be considered a perfectly healthy weight for your height.

Sorry if I offended you, but I have been reading a lot of compliment fishing threads lately, although I see you're new so I can't really fault you for that.

However, this post should really be in health and support and not weight loss.

Your stats are normal. Your fear is not. It sounds like you are at the start of an ED, frankly. Eat healthy, get regular exercise, feel well. You are normal. If you continue to feel panic, you should speak to a doctor and a nutritionist.

You sound perfectly normal, except you just have a straight body type. It's just how you are shaped!

well isn't that a size zero?  for a person 5'7.5" a 31in. hip is a size zero or 00

- i can't see how that could be bad for someone your height. i'm sure you look nice =)

First of all you sound tiny.

Everyone can have body issues sometimes, what is your eating like? and are you eating a enough.

Fattyfull, working out is a great way to make you feel better about your body image but you must make sure to eat enough to support the exercise and don't overdo it. As everyone else says, you have tiny stats. Make sure that you eat no less than 1500 calories a day (that is the bare minimum!!). Also since you said you have a history of anorexia you have to be really careful, so please take care of yourself!

Thermal, everyone is allowed to post in the forums and if you have a problem with a thread (either against guidelines or in the incorrect forum) please report it to a moderator rather than taking up an issue on the thread itself. And if you don't like a particular topic, simply don't click on it!

Thanks! :)

you sound like me and i have an inch bigger measurements than you. I feel sometimes when we lose weight we start to notice imagined flaws about ourselves. I personally don't feel like you are fishing for complimants as i constantly ask people if i look fat etc yet i am a size 6 going on to size 4. Logically when i think about it i know there is nothing wrong with me sometimes it takes a while for our brains to catch up unfortunately. If you ever want to chat and are having a bad day feel free to message me as i think you sound great and i bet you look great too :)

hello ladies. thank you all for your input. sorry it took me so long to respond. i have been away from my computer.

hollie07: I usually eat a small b-fast & a decent size lunch. i snack on a few things throughout the day. And my big meal is at dinner time. i believe i am getting enough to eat with some days eating more than i probably need. i don't think i am eating the 1500 calories suggested by nycgirl. i always thought i should only eat 1200 or less. i am starting to buy healthier foods so i can stay on track & not fall back into old habbits. thanks ladies. :)

sarahc1984: i am glad i am not the only one that feels like this. i am trying to see my body in more of a positve light. yesterday though, i tried on a pair of pants that used to be big on me & i couldn't even button them. that discouraged me a little. in 3 weeks i am going to measure & weigh myself again & see if my workouts are working. wish me luck.
