i never thought getting a boyfriend would be a bad thing! (lol, its not really..but its killed my will power).
i've really fallen off the wagon, and i'm not even bothering to catch up anymore. i've worked out maybe three times in the last three weeks. first when i started seeing him i was just so nervous that i couldn't eat, and he lives downtown so while we do a decent amount of walking to get from one place to another..we are constantly out so i went from eating out once a week to almost every day!he is coming to my town for the first time, so atleast then i can suggest we go to my place and eat supper there, we can't really go to his parents place because they're ..not so thrilled about him dating a white girl.
i also went camping last week and lived off of chips and burgers and ..chips.. and regular coke! *gasp*. so .. its been 3 weeks and thankfully i've only gained back 3lbs. but i dont want to keep on this road.
I have exerscise dvds, quite a few of them that i've downloaded, and they worked for me before...so i figure if i can get back to doing that and get my eating under control again..
i wanted to be down to atleast 125 by october, maybe 120 if things were going well.. i'm back up to 133/134 .. i have a gym at school, and a half decent schedual this year so thats definatly an option...bah. i'm just discouraged.
You have taken the first steps to re-motivating yourself already. You id'd the problem. You are aware of it. However, you say, you are not event bothering to catch up.....not such a motivating statement there.
You are aware of the foods you are putting in your body. The chips and burgers and regular coke....all could have been substituted for healthier choices. Having these once in a while is not a bad thing, but a regular feast will put the pounds back on you.
You are not that far away from where you want to be...133 down to 125. Do what you need to do...and you know what that is.
~ Make better food choices and eat healthy meals throughout the day
~ Move your body ... walking with the bf is fine, but do you really get your heart rate up???
~ Drink your water
You are going to be fine. You havent fallen off the wagon that much but reign it in now before the pounds get comfy on you.
Good luck.
I recognize your "problem". I had the same thing. But it is fairly simple. You are just too focused on your boyfriend and that is really normal in the beginning. Accept that it is so, it will become better when you know each other for some time longer. Don't be angry at yourself because of it.
Before you had your boyfriend you were probably single and had all the time in the world to focus on good food and enough exercise. All you had to do was do that and you got great results.
Now your attention is elsewhere. You are in love and he is all there is (at least that's how it worked for me). After some time (and I notice that I'm now after 5 months am getting back into it) you will have the attention span again to focus on him AND food/exercise.
It is all about keeping damages to a minimum. I only gained 5 lbs in the last few months just because I decided to focus on one thing. You can chose what you want to focus on: drinking water, exercising, not eating sugar, whatever you want. Only choose one thing.
Keep that as your main focus besides your boyfriend. After a month you choose another thing while you keep on focusing on the first thing (which is a habit by then). Keep on adding one thing every month.
And keep on enjoying the boyfriend. Maybe you only gained 3 lbs because of him
. I mean... only the faster heart beat MUST stand for extra burn! hahaha let alone all the other activities you like to do with new boyfriends.
Have fun and don't be too harsh.... you are doing great and I bet that those 3 lbs are only water weight because you had so much chips (which is loaded with salt).

Thanks ^^
yeah, yesterday i was also in a cruddy mood so it was making things seem worse then they are! i'm definatly focused on him.. so i'm going to try atleast start going back to drinking lots of water and stuff like that. if i keep that going to the rest of the month then that'll be fantastic, then I can get back to working out regularly in august. then boom, when september rolls around i can hit the gym at school! (which i definatly missed this summer, its free!). that and its much easier to plan meals around my classes ^^
i'm definatly glad its only a few pounds, i just need to get back at it lol.
yeah just take you time. your life probably changed tremendously so don't forget to enjoy this wonderful time in your life. These are times you want to remember when you're 90, not the agony of forcing yourself back into a regime you really don't want to be at this moment :-)
good luck
