I have been at it for 4 weeks now and can't lose a single pound! Any suggestions?
Wow, no kidding! I've been counting calories for 4 weeks and lost like 2.5 lb. Which, better than nothing - but it seems like such work for such a small loss. But are you exercising? If so, I would just suggest eating before you work out and avoiding fatty foods. Lots of grains (granola, bread) are good for you in moderation but ultimately carry a lot of calories (dairy as well). Other than that...patience I suppose. Our bodies grow accustomed to carrying around the extra weight and sometimes it takes awhile to seperate the two. Just think of it this way: If you lose weight more slowly, it'll stay off. And, if you don't lose as much weight as you want, at least you're more healthy and taking care of your body because a healthy version of 140 is better than an unhealthy version.
Good luck!
Hey,
Remember those 2.5 lb I mentioned I lost? They appear to have visited me in my sleep and haven't left. How frustrating! It's hard to press on when it seems you're going backwards. I really hope you can break through and we can finally reach our goals!
Well I am still here...same weight with no results! I am considering hiring a personal trainer at the gym I go to, but I am not sure it will be worth the $. I already do weights twice a week, yoga twice a week and spin once or twice and a dance class!!!!
My boyfriend on the other hand loses weight by just thinking about losing!
My husband can be sedentary all winter and then just go climb a mountain with no problems. I worked with a personal trainer at my gym that I went to and I didn't see any improved results over my work out. Obviously that can vary with the trainer but she really ended up just stressing me out haha. So I don't think it's worth the money.
But on top of that, I wouldn't focus on the pounds if at least I were losing inches! Who cares if you weigh 125 lb. if you're still going to be a 8 right? But it seems that when I lose any weight, it doesn't reflect in my size.
So....I guess we persevere?
Good luck!
