This is the all-new "Join me to lose the last 2-5 lbs club"!

This type of thread helped me famously as I was on my weight loss journey in 2007. Now I am back looking for more, support, friends and few pounds to lose ... I am still thin but feeling down in the dumps with poor eating and a lack of motivation.

Who wants to join me to lose the last 3-5lbs and stay healthy! Post goals, rants, diaries of your day if you like, we can lose those last few together!

Hi All,

Know I'm coming in a bit late, but could use the support.  I've been maintaining at 50 kilos for more than a year and half now.  About a week before my period I went up to 52 and thought this was normal TOM gain, that was three weeks ago and it still hasn't gone away.  I'm working out 5 days a week, watching what I eat like crazy (there have been no crazy binges or drastic changes in my diet to justify such a weight jump), but the weight doesn't want to come off.  I also feel bloated and uncomfortable all the time and don't know what I can do to shake this.  After going to the gym at night I can go down to 50.5 or 51, but then it comes back the next morning...so, so frustrating.

Welcome MSH...can you convert kilos to lbs for me...50k is ?lbs?  what is your daily calorie intake?  what are you doing at the gym? cardio or weights or both? could the weight gain be muscle gain?

what is your goal weight?

are you drinking enough water?? 8-10 glasses/day + more when you are working out.

hang in there!!! we're all struggling with the same issues...it's a daily battle for me not to drink a soda!! :)

I believe 50 kilos = 110.3 and 51 = 112.5, how tall are you msh?

Soo...my little update. I fell off the wagon, never go back on. Had a massive drinking night of Friday, and had an extremely bloated Saturday weight. So ate well/not too bad Sunday-Tuesday and I weighed in this morning at 132!!

I couldn't believe it, i haven't worked out in a week and a half and have not logged any calories, not quite sure how I did that?

I'll check back in a few days to see where I go from here, but I'm feeling pretty 'woohoo' today. Only two more pounds until I see something below 130. That is now my New Years Eve goal.

Good job cbridge...you've obviously changed your overall eating habits for the better...always a good thing.  I'm maintaining at 122...sure would like to get below 120 by New Year's but I'm not sure if I can do it...it's too cold to run!! LOL. (GW: 115)

Thanks for the responses!  Yes, 50 kilos is about 110, which I've been very, very happy with.  I'm 5´2".  I shoot for a daily calorie intake of 1500.

My work can be fairly hectic, so I´m not often sitting at my desk, but at the gym I do 45-50 mins of cardio (alternating between running 5 miles or doing a full spinning work out).  I do a half hour of free weights 3/xs a week and do 1/2 hr classes of pilates 2 to 3x/s per week (just from a video I bought, not a proper class).  I've been active most of my life like this, and control what I eat pretty carefully, so can't figure out how 2 kilos (4.4 lbs) just appeared over night and now refuse to leave!  I'm not really interested in cutting my calorie intake because I don't think it's necessary. I don't eat junk food at all and try to drink at least a litre of water each day.

Thanks for the support, I just need to figure out what I need to change to lose this and feel good again...

Just checking in.  I've been avoiding CC and the scale for the same reasons as before.  cbridge, i really wish i had your problem!  We have the same goals, too.  I haven't been able to excercise all week due to plans and errands and it seems like every night someone wants to go grab food or drinks.  It really doesn't help with the weigh-ins in the morning.  I'm just going to try to do my best around christmas when I get home.  Sigh.

This time of year is terrible for trying to eat healthy...everyone keeps bringing in sweets...I keep turning them down... I went to lunch with some friends yesterday and I was proud for eating soup and a salad while they had STEAK... then today they're giving me a hard time because I didnt eat steak too.  I didnt give them a hard time for eating steak so why dont they leave me alone? I'm fine with eating low-calorie meals and not snacking on everything that someone offers...but it's like they're offended... geesh!  I'm so glad my husband is supportive...he knows it's important to me to lose these last 6 lbs...why cant everyone else understand?  The ones that give me the hardest time are overweight ladies...

Just checking in as well.  I´ve been so frustrated the last few weeks...yesterday I lowered my intake during the day (not really intentionally, just no time to eat) and then had rice and steamed veggies for dinner, but earlier than usual - at 7:30, rather than 9ish when I usually eat.  I went to bed at 11 feeling like was completely digested, rather than full (which usually happens).  My wiegh in this morning was 2 lbs lower than it has been for 3 weeks!  I feel a lot better this morning, so hoping this last and the scale doesn't creep us any more, if so I'm now 2 lbs away from my goal rather than 4:)

Hey ladies,

Noone has written in this thread in a long time so I thought I'd write to bring it back and also to say that I reached my min-goal!  I saw 129.9 on the scale today when I woke up.  I'm pretty pumped especially since I've been partying so much lately, and eating lots since I got back to Canada around Christmas time.  It feels good!

How is everyone doing?

Happy New Year! I was sick last week and dropped a couple pounds...unfortunately they came right back. :(  Slim Fast bar for breakfast, Subway for lunch today...I WILL lose these last 5 lbs before Spring! I'm just glad the holidays are over...back to reality and healthy eating!!

 

Hey guys! I ahve been doing miserably, my original 2-5 lbs is now 7-10lbs. I am up the highest I have been since I was losing and THINGS NEED TO CHANGE. What I ate today, of course, doesn't help but I will make a change, need to get back into the groove, Please help motivate me!

I'm excited to see this thread as I have been hovering close to my goal for the last few months & this might give me the kick in the butt I need to get over the line so to say.

SW: 127

CW: 108

GW: 104

Frame: Small

I'm still in holiday eating mode and feel the need to treat myself more than usual so I'm going to have to get back to being disciplined about my food choices.

nycgirl - ok, let's get serious!! I ate really bad yesterday too...so starting right NOW let's get working... I had a slim fast bar for breakfast and even though I really want Tacos for lunch I'm going to force myself to eat a plain salad.  Tonight is bowling night and we have yummy Thai food at our bowling alley...I vow to eat the shrimp/stir fry veggie dish which has a lot of salt but pretty low calories (no rice).  and I'll only have one LITE beer! :)   What is your meal plan for the day? Maybe if we tell each other we'll be more obliged to stick to it... if we cheat then we can yell at each other. :) 

I also need to get my butt back to an exercise plan...I havent ran in 2 weeks! it's COLD outside!!  bowling tonight is better than nothing I guess...I'll try hard to get up in the morning and at least do some exercises before I shower.  What is your exercise plan??

Im back! I had a really great trip and lots of fun! I thought it would be disasterous for  my diet but it ended  up actually helping me out a bit! I weighed 114.7 yesterday! My original goal was 114 lbs so i am going to see if this weight works for me or if i want to loose a bit more (110ish maybe?). I am only 5'1 and have a small frame so we will see...

It feels good to be home in some ways mostly because of my bed (we were camping a lot) and my eating. Its a lot easier to eat healthfully when you determine your own eating schedule and can plan your own meals.

Sounds like you all had great holidays!

And dont worry about a little bit of extra weight sometimes a little gain is the motivation you need to get you loosing again!

I need to get rid of those 2-5 pounds that attacked me during my annual Halloween - New Year's Day binge. I'm not sure how much exactly I gained because I'm a little scared of my scale now, but I do know that when I bumped into something in my bathroom in front of my mirror, I saw too much unwanted jiggling.

welcom back vnaloo - glad you had a nice trip and congrats on meeting your goal!

poofyball -- love that name by the way.  welcome, sounds like you are in the right place...you probably need to jump on that scale and see where you're at and determine a reasonable goal...  I know what that unwanted jiggling is all about though!

I saw an infomercial for a new fat loss pill...lizoprene or something...has anyone ever tried those pills? I wonder if they work...probably not but one can hope?!

Thank you soooo much for the words of encouragement! It really means so much. My weigh in this morning was terrible. Again my weight is still low but I am now 10 lbs above my wedding date goal and I feel sluggish and depressed. I also have not worked out since before my wedding. Now is the time to change and stop the downwward spiral. My sister is pregnant with her third child and looks so much fitter and better than I do!

I like the idea of sharing eating plans ... Today though I have a good eating plan:

- Breakfast: hearty bowl of Product 19 with skim milk, two slices of prosciutto,
 3 cups coffee

- Lunch: 3 clemintines, Fiber One bar, half an apple (I am still really hungry no surprises there, terribly small lunch, I might have to get something else very soon)

- Dinner: Probably will eat homemade white meat turkey curry (no rice), and some more ham or prosciutto (I am an addict), and likely another bowl of Product 19 .... and importantly NO M&Ms or Hershey's kisses!!!

I will try to post back in tonight.

My exercise plan is to TAKE THE STAIRS for the rest of the week.

Yay, I made it through last night and had a good weigh-in this morning.

I ate well yesterday, healthfully and great on calories. I did have almond M&Ms but only 8 of them, instead of the normal 20-30 I normally have.

I did take the stairs this morning - up 16 flights!

Today is going well, I have eaten quite a bit but am actually still pretty hungry ... wondering what I can get to keep myself in control.

I hope everyone is doing well, I think I finally am in a good mentality about getting my self-control back and losing those last few LBS.

I have been pretty good about working out this week since getting back but my eating has been a little crazy-- far too much! I am just so happy to be home and have all my regular foods!! i am going to try and keep it in control for the weekend!

NYCgirl, sounds like you could add some veggies and nuts to help make you feel fuller...I like to snack on a handful of almonds when I'm craving some chocolate...and snack on raw carrots while I watch tv rather than going after the cookie jar. :)

I've been eating slim fast meal bars for breakfast....the chocolate cookie dough one is awesome.  that keeps me full till lunch and yesterday we had sushi, which is great except for the rice.  Today I'll probably have a grilled chicken salad.  Last night my kids wanted sloppy joe's for dinner...and of course I ate one. LOL  not sure what I'm making tonight...turkey sausage maybe.

I ran Sat & Sun this weekend...hopefully I'll get home early enough tonight to get a run in.  Congrats on the stairs...keep it up!!!! I'm trying to eat max 1,500 cals/day which is going pretty well...I just need to be sure to get my exercise in too.  my new goal is to lose 5 lbs by 1 March...what do you think?
